Chapter 37: The Copper Coffin at the Bottom of the Water

  Chapter Thirty-Seven: Copper Coffin Underwater

Dark energy surged, hundreds of dark spirits formed a square array, using their own dark energy to suppress the water pool. However, even so, the water pool still churned up dark energy. The two stocks of dark energy rubbed against each other, and I could faintly hear a rumbling sound. When the dark energy surged, those dark spirits were knocked back again. Although they didn't scatter in all directions, they did become much dimmer. I can be certain that these dark spirits and the water pool are not coexisting peacefully, but rather are opposing each other. As my mind stirred, I slowly took a few steps forward towards the water pool. Hearing the howling of the dark spirits, I didn't pay attention to it. Activating my Heavenly Eye to gaze into the water, it was pitch black, and the surface of the water became even darker. I couldn't see anything at all - what's going on?

With a sense of discontent, I took a deep breath and concentrated my mind, thinking about expanding my Heavenly Eye. As soon as my consciousness moved, the Heavenly Eye opened again, faintly probing downwards, to the point where I couldn't feel anything else around me. The Heavenly Eye is an extraordinary feeling; if someone has experienced sleep paralysis, they can understand it a bit. When we're experiencing sleep paralysis, our eyes are clearly closed, but we can still clearly sense the movements and sounds around us - other people's actions, their words... as long as we pay attention carefully, there's nothing that can't be seen from front to back, left to right, up or down. However, our body is unable to move; in fact, this is when the Heavenly Eye has been activated. In simple terms, the Heavenly Eye is an expansion of a person's consciousness; at this time, it doesn't use the physical eye to see, but rather uses spiritual awareness to perceive things. However, it can't penetrate walls. But after Daoist cultivators have practiced and cultivated their skills, they can develop various types of spiritual awareness, allowing them to penetrate walls. Some powerful practitioners can even see things several miles away; this is what's known as the Heavenly Eye divine ability. As for me, I don't know why my Heavenly Eye opened so easily; I'm guessing it has something to do with when Master opened my Heavenly Eye and I used the Nine-Character True Speech Mantra, causing spiritual energy to pour in and fully opening up the Heavenly Eye that was originally only supposed to be open for a short time. As a result, it never closed again...

No matter what, the Heaven's Eye looked inside and the scene in the water was reflected in his mind. The surface of the water wasn't large, but even after probing about a meter down, he still couldn't see the bottom. It was pitch black, but he felt an aura that was even more intense and filled with evil energy. Even the Heaven's Eye was slightly shaken by this aura. This aura definitely wouldn't be naturally formed. What exactly was at the bottom?

Just as I was thinking, a strange and violent energy suddenly surged up, filling my mind with a bloodthirsty feeling. It climbed up along my heavenly eye's divine sense, and I was shocked in my heart, not daring to probe further. I hurriedly tried to withdraw my heavenly eye, but it was already too late. The energy had already burst into my sea of consciousness, exploding with a loud bang, causing my heavenly eye to shatter instantly. My head felt like something inside was exploding, and I couldn't help but let out a miserable cry as I collapsed to the ground. I knew that the energy still refused to subside, rampaging through my mind. At this moment, I thought I was done for, unable to withstand such an impact.

But just as the pain suddenly eased, the sea of consciousness cleared up again. The air machine was torn apart by a small person, who was the one that the master had lured out earlier. At this time, he was violently stirring in the sea of consciousness. Fortunately, there was this little man, otherwise it would have been terrible. Unfortunately, this little man was not under my control. Just as I let out a sigh of relief, the little man suddenly flashed and slipped out of my ear. It could be seen with the naked eye that after a few ups and downs on the ground, he had already reached the edge of the pool. He said something to the pool, then jumped in all at once.

I was stunned at the time, what to do, no matter what the little man is, after all, it's a part of me, I couldn't just ignore him. After a moment's thought, I suddenly wanted to activate the Heavenly Eye, but as soon as I did, my head felt like it had been torn open again, making me involuntarily clutch my head and groan in pain. Only then did I realize that the Heavenly Eye could no longer be used. But what to do now? Just as I was at a loss for what to do, I suddenly felt a stirring in my heart, and subconsciously closed my eyes. In my mind's eye, I saw the clarity of water, and I was shocked to find that I could sense the little man's feelings.

The water had already dropped two or three meters, but it was clear that it hadn't reached the bottom yet. The surface of the water didn't change much, it just became darker and darker. However, as I went deeper into September, when I reached a depth of three meters, the density of the yin energy was almost unimaginable, like honey, and I could hardly feel the flow of the water. What on earth is going on here?

The little man continued to dive down, not paying attention to the thick yin energy, nor the violent air machine inside. Anyway, I didn't feel any discomfort, and it seemed like there was still a long way to go below. This didn't look like a pool, but rather a deep well, getting narrower as you went down, with brick walls all around, seemingly made of original green bricks, which is why I said it looked like a well. At four meters, the bottom was only three meters wide, and the actual pool was only about one meter deep, then narrowing down like a funnel. It seemed someone had intentionally built it this way.

Ignoring my wild thoughts, the little man continued to sink down, unable to feel the buoyancy of the water, but instead seemed to be pulled down by some kind of suction force. However, at this moment, the bluish-gray bricks below had undergone a change, with symbols or texts beginning to appear on their surface. I didn't recognize these symbols, which looked very strange and seemed to emanate a weird power.

As I continued to sink down, the water seemed to have a thin layer of ice on it. Fortunately, being small and intangible, I wasn't obstructed and was able to continue sinking down. Finally, at around 7-8 meters deep, I reached the bottom. The floor looked like it was covered in snow, but it was actually made of green bricks with dense symbols etched onto them. The entire cave was roughly 10-15 meters wide, with a copper coffin placed in the center. The coffin was being carried by three bodies that resembled corpses, but showed no signs of decay - they might have even been cast from copper or iron. Each of these bodies had chains on them that extended to the corners of the room and were locked onto copper pillars. These pillars were very shiny and adorned with dragon shapes and numerous symbols, clearly indicating that they were not ordinary copper pillars.

The little man didn't bother with the chain and copper pillar, nor did he pay attention to the three corpses. He just fell onto the copper coffin and could feel its vibration, as if something wanted to come out. The little man stopped at this point, turned around the copper coffin with his back to it, and then stood on the side where the head should be. After a moment of contemplation, he suddenly punched the copper coffin, but there was no reaction. However, before this thought had even occurred, the copper coffins began to vibrate. The little man took advantage of the situation and pointed at the copper coffin, saying something unknown. Then, he quickly rose up, following the contraction of my divine consciousness. I suddenly opened my eyes to find that the little man had already jumped out of the water and stood before me in a few steps. Without asking for my consent, he crawled into my ear.

I finally knew the situation below, and when I looked at the water surface, my face changed involuntarily. The water surface was boiling up like boiling water, and the dark souls above were also stirred up, suddenly pressing down, and the water surface was no longer boiling under the pressure of the yin energy. However, it could be seen that these dark souls were struggling, floating in the black fog, obviously suppressing something at the bottom of the water. I don't know what's at the bottom of the water, but it can't be a good thing, or there wouldn't be such a fierce and violent aura, and yet these dark souls didn't want that thing to come out.

No matter what, these vengeful spirits are apparently kind-hearted, taking things out. Just this brutal and tyrannical aura would drive people mad. So for now, I can unite with the vengeful spirits. At least their energy is focused on suppressing that thing, without coming to bother me. But what can I do?

The water is so deep that you need diving equipment to go down, but this is not the main problem. The problem is that it's too cold underwater, and four meters below are already frozen. You can imagine the temperature at the bottom, I'm afraid it's already below zero. Moreover, the density of the yin energy will make it impossible for people to move freely. At least until this problem is solved, I won't be able to go down. Besides, even if I went down, I don't know how to suppress the things at the bottom.

Just as I was thinking, a loud noise suddenly came from the bottom of the water, and a burst of water rushed up, rolling up to three or four meters high, breaking through the formation of the yin souls. Several poor yin souls were instantly scattered, but the yin souls did not retreat. Instead, they tightened their formation and desperately urged the pressure down. However, suppressing yin energy with yin energy was clearly not a good method, as some parts would always be merged, and this part would be absorbed by whoever was stronger. Fortunately, there were enough yin souls, several hundred of them, or else they wouldn't have been able to suppress the thing below.

I knew I couldn't wait any longer, so I took a deep breath and looked at the Bagua mirror in my hand. With a sudden burst of determination, I bit my tongue and spat out a mouthful of blood onto the mirror. The mirror began to glow with an intense golden light. I ran for only two steps before reaching the edge of the pool, but the dark spirits lurking nearby scattered in all directions. I didn't have time to pay attention to them, though - I was too busy forcing the Bagua mirror into the water. But just as my arm made contact with the surface, I felt a strange tingling sensation and lost my grip on the mirror. To my surprise, instead of sinking, the mirror floated on the surface of the water, as if suspended in mid-air.

As soon as the golden light came into contact with the yin energy, it flowed like mercury on its own, as if a layer of membrane had been applied to the surface of the water. The surface of the water immediately calmed down, but also forced those yin souls to rise up to higher places. It's not that I'm more powerful than those yin soul formations, but the golden light of the Bagua mirror is obviously the nemesis of yin energy, and it has a better effect than those yin souls.

Is that all? Apparently not, the thing below was obviously very dissatisfied with my suppression, and the dark energy surged up even more violently, intersecting with the golden light. Slowly, the golden light began to dim, startling me. I hastily spat another mouthful of blood onto the Bagua mirror, and the golden light flourished again. However, this wasn't a long-term solution, as how much blood could I possibly use? There's only the heart's blood in the ten fingers, and the yang blood on the tip of the tongue that can suppress the yin energy. But if time went on, it would lead to a lack of blood.

It's just that I have no other way out except for the gossip mirror, and for now, I can only hold on temporarily, hoping that those yin souls can make up for it. However, I'm afraid I'll be disappointed because when the yin souls saw me start to suppress the yin energy, they actually hid aside to rest, leaving me alone. This is too unfair, but what can I do?
