Half of "what if"
A couple who were about to get married had a fight because of a mysterious text message from an unknown woman. I should add "possibly" because I'm not sure if their fight was really caused by the text message I sent on June 1st at dawn. Then, one of them stormed off for a month, and the other one took it to the extreme and went missing altogether - how capricious can they be?
He has been lying to me, which is an undeniable fact. This mouth of his seems to be somewhat owed at times, but he won't reveal anything that shouldn't be said, no matter what. If analyzed carefully, the fact that he told me about the tracker suggests that he was already certain I had nothing to do with his girlfriend's disappearance and needed my help to rescue Liang Ge and the others together. This is one point.
Secondly, just now he admitted that his girlfriend Dongdong was not among the previous five donkey friends, so it must be that I got some point of recognition from him, which made him willing to reveal some inside information again. With a cool and extremely sarcastic smile, it's probably because I'm with him in this tree hole, experiencing one after another life-and-death encounter.
Dressing up as a pig to eat a tiger, I'm afraid no one has surpassed his acting skills.
There are still many questions, but they're not very relevant now, and I'm not interested in knowing them either. So I asked a relatively simple question: "If your girlfriend hadn't entered the Black Bamboo Gorge, wouldn't you have risked your life for nothing?" Not to mention being able to get out safely, if it's said that he left his life here, I'm afraid that when the spring water returns one day, she won't cry herself to death?
The successive answer is: "You also said it's hypothetical, but what if she was here and her life was threatened somewhere? If I didn't come, there would only be one outcome for her, and at least I've made preparations and have options now."
I had a lot of sarcastic remarks prepared, but after hearing what he just said, I swallowed them all. For a long time, neither of us spoke, perhaps because it was almost dawn and the nocturnal creatures had retreated back to their nests, so there was no more noise outside the tree hole. The space felt eerily quiet, listening to the breathing sound right next to me, I asked in a low voice: "You must love your girlfriend very much, right?"
Even if it has been argued that she is not a missing person, only the messages that she joined the adventure group and browsed the Heizigou data records, he still came to take risks to find people. For that two-fifths chance of "what if".
But unexpectedly, the subsequent answers were very vague: "Love, but reality is often not just about love."
"What does it mean?"
He suddenly laughed inexplicably, his voice low and slightly magnetic: "Xiao Jiu, you said earlier that you weren't in a romantic relationship with that missing man, but I didn't quite believe it. Now I do. You've never been in love before, have you?" His tone was affirmative, and I raised an eyebrow, then furrowed my brow again.
Seeing me speechless, he continued on his own: "Only those who have experienced emotions will understand the subtleties, so even if I tell you, you won't understand."
"When I didn't ask." I directly threw him four words, hearing him laugh in a low voice, a burst of annoyance.
And so, the third topic also ended in failure.
With a snap, the space suddenly lit up, and it was the flashlight that had been turned on. The light shone towards me for a moment before he said, "Let's get ready to leave." I looked at my watch under the light and saw that the time was 6:00 AM. It seemed like just a daze, but an entire night had passed. Calculating roughly, I estimated that we had slept for no more than two hours, and then our mood became as turbulent as a roller coaster ride.
