Im getting married

  I'm getting married

At midnight twelve o'clock sharp, I sent the edited message on time and waited for the other party to reply, but after waiting for a long time, there was no response, which made me wonder, it wasn't like this before.

Waited for another ten minutes, feeling that the other party should not be back, put down the phone and fell asleep. In a daze, it seemed to feel the vibration under the pillow, reached out to touch the phone, squinting at the screen, found an unread message, the time was already 2 o'clock in the middle of the night. Muttered a sentence, opened the message, only to see: Wanwan, don't send text messages again, okay?

I furrowed my brow, before I could react, another message tone came, and the other party sent another one: I'm getting married.

Every month at midnight on the last day, I send a text message to his phone with roughly this content: Happy New Year's Day, happy 2nd of January, happy 3rd of January, happy 4th of January, happy 5th of January... and so on. Then he will reply within five minutes with just one word: "Good". This has been going on for almost two years now.

Tonight is the end of May, I just typed "Happy Children's Day", and the other party's reply was different. After a moment of hesitation, I entered four words and sent: Wish you happiness!

He put down his phone and got up, although he had only slept for less than two hours, but was woken up by this unexpected event and couldn't sleep anymore. He walked to the computer, turned it on, and waited for the machine to start up. He went to the cupboard, took out a packet of instant coffee, made a cup, and took a sip.

Sat back in front of the computer, opened the D drive, found the folder with the name "Xiang Wan" among the various signed folders, clicked in and opened a document. Scanned through the content on the screen, used the mouse to pull it all the way to the bottom, then typed four characters at the very end: Task Completed. Then closed the document, dragged the folder named "Xiang Wan" into the F drive, which contained all the completed task lists, and finally this two-year-long task was settled.

My job is very special, providing convenience for some special groups of people. In this world, there are always some people who cannot express themselves directly to others due to certain reasons, so my profession exists, sending blessings messages on their behalf or delivering gifts to someone.

However, due to the inferiority of society and the times, among many types of clients, there are more businesses that serve as comfort for mistresses. A certain company boss or a certain official, or just an ordinary man, who has a mistress outside but doesn't have time to care about her, so they find me through intermediaries to send text messages on various holidays.

Doing this job, I naturally have a set of special tools, which is the simulated number software. The customer's number is archived, and then according to the customer's requirements, I express myself to the other party, and the wording in between needs me to think for myself. After a long time, responding to some sudden problems also becomes handy. Xiang Wan is one of the few female clients I have, and I remember that when I first communicated with her, I only felt that she spoke softly and pleasantly, but the requirements she put forward were very strange, which was to send "Happy Birthday" four words on a specified number at the end of each month.

At that time, I thought, did she not know the other person's birthday or was it intentional? Until a year later, she changed her request to become what it is now, wishing the other person happiness on every "one".

From that day on, I didn't send any more messages to that number. When signing the contract with Xiang Wan, it was agreed that if the other party proposed not to send anymore, this single task would be considered completed. At midnight at the end of June, I got used to taking out my phone to edit text messages, and when I had written halfway through, I suddenly remembered that this task was already over, and couldn't help but laugh at myself. Maintaining it for two years, it suddenly stopped, and I still felt a bit unaccustomed to it.

But habits are meant to be broken, by the end of July, I had stopped thinking about it.

But on August 1st, an unexpected guest arrived. As soon as the door was opened, a young man wearing a light blue short-sleeved shirt and gray trousers was leaning against a Hummer, smoking. Hearing the noise from my side, his gaze immediately swept over and locked eyes with me for a moment before he walked over and asked directly: "Is Wang Wan in?"

Towards evening? I slightly felt unexpected, how could someone run to me here to find customers?
