Chapter 4 Midnight Nursing
My back has gone cold, I looked around in all directions, but found that there was no one around.
This voice is gentle yet icy, it's the most familiar voice I've ever known, but it can't be, absolutely can't be. Because the owner of this voice passed away three years ago.
Just then, the phone rang. I picked it up and saw that it was Sun Wen. I didn't even have time to find the source of the voice from earlier, so I answered the call.
"Liang Pei, I didn't finish speaking earlier, how about you? How's your first day of work?" Sun Wen's voice sounded very excited, it seemed that his meeting had gone extremely well.
I told him about my situation and he asked if I was okay after that, then came over 20 minutes later.
After seeing me, he hugged me tightly and whispered in my ear, "I was scared to death, you know? When you said there was a car accident earlier, I was so worried about you!"
The voice that just called me still echoes in my mind, but I tightly hugged Sun Wen's waist, "I'm also very scared, luckily I have you."
I told him about the seriously injured boy inside and expressed my intention to take care of him temporarily. Sun Wen immediately nodded in agreement, "That's right, you haven't finished your vacation yet, and after experiencing such a big shock today, it's not suitable for you to go to work either. Let's focus on nursing the boy's injuries first, we are all kind-hearted people, can't just stand by and do nothing."
I burst out laughing and gently pinched his face, "You're really good at giving yourself a gold medal. Alright, I'll stay with you tonight, I reckon he's still in the danger zone today and can't leave your side for now."
"Yes, just in case something unexpected happens and no one is in charge, it would be more troublesome. I'll stay with you here." Sun Wen said considerately.
"No, no, as usual, you held a research meeting today, and you must go home to write a report tonight, put forward some new ideas and concepts, make a presentation at the hospital tomorrow, and then confirm the plan..."
"That's enough, the more you talk, the more I want to go out and do some experiments. Alright, I know you care about me, tonight I'll bring my computer over and work with you here, okay?"
"It's no good, you go back. I won't be going to work tomorrow, you can't take it, finish early and get a good rest for tomorrow, we still need to put on a good face in front of the boss. The earlier you become successful, the earlier I'll become a rich lady, so now I must support your career."
Seeing me so persistent, Sun Yat-sen laughed and said, "Alright, alright, to marry a virtuous wife like this, what merits or abilities do I, Sun Yat-sen, have?"
"Stop being poor, hurry up and help me buy food, then go back. Tomorrow morning, bring me toiletries." I smiled and pushed him away.
"I thought you really cared about me, but it turns out you're still ruthless in using me." Sun Wen said, and with that, he was already gone.
Before long, he brought me lunch and water.
After telling me to look for him if I had anything, he went home.
I know he must be tired after a day's work and still have a lot of work to do when he gets home, and I feel some sympathy for him being so hardworking.
After finishing dinner, I sat on a long bench and finally saw the doctor from the emergency room come out.
"Family! Where is my family?"
I hastily went forward.
"Who is he to you?"
I hesitated for a moment, "Sister."
The doctor looked at me with some suspicion, as if he didn't believe me.
My face turned red, although I'm twenty-seven, but my skin is relatively fair, and after leaving the campus, I went straight into the museum, so I've always been living in a very simple environment, so I look quite young. Often when I go out with Sun Wen, people will ask him, "Where did you cheat on such a little girl to be your wife?"
When I reveal my age, it scares people. Everyone says I look like I'm only just over twenty.
Now this doctor must be thinking I'm not the sister of that boy inside.
"How is my brother?" And then I added another sentence.
"The situation is okay, but there was another shock earlier and the time was a bit longer. Now all vital signs are fine, and after 24 hours, we can say that the danger period has passed. Within these 24 hours, in principle, you cannot leave the care of the nurse." The doctor informed us professionally.
I nodded repeatedly, "Okay, okay."
"Admitted to ICU, transferred out after passing the critical period." He said and left.
Inside, a movable bed was pushed out, on which Su Jinan was still hanging with dew.
I followed the stretcher out of the ward and was stopped.
