Yin and Yang Lovers
"Honey, I'm going to work."
"Uh, you take a taxi then, I won't be able to send you off. Today there's a research meeting and I have to give a report. But tonight I can pick you up." Sun Wen stood in front of the full-length mirror, responding to me while adjusting his tie.
He has become a suit and tie, snow-white shirt, hair combed neatly, tall stature, looks particularly straight and steady.
Bathed in morning light, he looks like a bronze statue.
I turned around and hugged his waist, he lowered his head and gently kissed my forehead. He said, "Be careful on the road. You look great today."
"Shut up." I bent down to change into high heels and then pushed open the door to leave.
My name is Bai Liangpei. I've been married to Sun Wengang for a month now. We just returned from our honeymoon in the Maldives. If he didn't have to rush back today to give a report, we were planning to travel around Europe and then come back.
Sun Wen is the youngest academician in our city's Academy of Sciences. He and his supervisor have been involved in researching new energy materials, which have gone through various experimental stages. It is expected that within the next decade, they will be able to replace gradually depleted petroleum as a new fuel source.
Today is also my first day of work after marriage. I am an assistant director at a museum in this province.
My husband and I are young and promising, with a talented husband and a beautiful wife, loving each other, everyone is happy for our union and bless us.
Three years ago, I never thought that I would have such a perfect ending for myself, so I am also very grateful to have such a result. Of course, I cherish it very much.
Our lives seem perfect at the moment.
I went downstairs myself and hailed a taxi after leaving the compound because I left early, so it was easy to get a cab. Before long, I managed to hail one.
After reporting their destination, the driver started up.
Because I just flew back yesterday, we were sorting out photos and luggage all night, slept very late, got up early this morning, now I'm a bit tired, so I closed my eyes to rest for a while.
I had just dozed off when I heard a loud screeching sound of sudden braking, and immediately my body was thrown forward, hitting the guardrail on the driver's seat with my head, sending a sharp pain through me.
I opened my eyes and took a look, and that's when the real scare began!
All we saw was our windshield covered in blood!
"What happened?!" I covered my head and asked the driver.
"The driver stammered and said, 'No... it's no good... I hit someone.'"
"Then why don't you go down and take a look!" As soon as he said that, I immediately got off the car, and saw that in front of our car, a young boy was lying on his back, with blood all over his face. Next to him was also a bicycle, which was also lying on the ground, its wheels still slowly turning.
The boy had a backpack on his body, which was scattered loosely on the ground.
The driver was frightened out of his wits.
I immediately dialed 122 and 120, then bent down to check the boy's breath.
I don't know if it's because I'm too nervous or if he's really seriously injured, but I can no longer feel any breathing.
Soon after, ambulances and traffic police also arrived one after another.
The doctor lifted the boy onto a stretcher, looked at me and asked, after learning that I was a passenger, said, "You're also injured, let's go to the hospital for an examination."
After I got on the ambulance, I saw through the glass that the driver was cooperating with the traffic police to take photos and make a record, and was taken away soon.
I sat beside the injured person and watched as a doctor and two nurses who had followed us were busily giving him emergency treatment, with a simple electrocardiogram machine in the car.
