Chapter 26: Layers of Bureaucracy
The ghost used a symbol array to set up an obstacle, allowing the three people to narrowly escape. It's not that the three weren't opponents for this group of guards, but rather that the matter of the ancient tomb was better left unknown to the public. Moreover, as a master exorcist with spiritual power, it was against the unspoken rules among exorcists to use their powers on ordinary people unless absolutely necessary.
After the guardian left, the three ghosts still didn't leave that spot. They quietly stayed for a while before slowly relaxing. The ghost directly sat on the ground and rummaged through its cloth bag. Chang Qingzi also sat down with a thud, pulling Yin Huan Yue down at the same time.
"How long can this last?" Chang Qingzi asked.
"For just one moment, we need to speed up time." The ghost said faintly.
"What are you looking for?" Yin Huan Yue asked curiously. The talisman had disappeared, and although the process was indeed painful, his stagnant spiritual power, which had not advanced in a long time, had loosened up a bit, so he was also more tolerant of the ghost's temper.
"There it is." The ghostly figure produced two beads the size of quail eggs. Their surface seemed to be made of iron, reflecting the moonlight and displaying a faint halo that flowed across them.
"How can your bag have everything?" Even the normally calm Yīn Huàn Yuè couldn't help but feel a little surprised at this moment.
"Tsk tsk, what a terrifying woman." Chang Qingzi shook his head and said.
"Let's go," the ghost said, standing up. The three of them immediately gathered together and slowly approached the guard post. At this time, the ghost threw one of the beads in his hand far away.
Bang! A sudden loud noise drew everyone's attention. The guards immediately became chaotic and rushed to the scene. In an instant, all the guards had already arrived.
"It's now." The ghost said. The three of them immediately rushed to the place where they had just been guarding, which was a mountain wall. It seemed that they were guarding here because they had excavated a good mineral vein. The ghost didn't say another word and pressed the remaining bead in his hand into the mountain wall, then quickly retreated.
Chang Qingzi quickly pulled out a talisman, muttered some words, and the talisman stuck to the pearl. A muffled sound was heard, and a passageway was blasted into the mountain wall. The ghost took the lead in entering, and Yin Huan Yue followed after, casually treating the mountain wall as if nothing had happened.
As we walked further in, a huge stone gate appeared before us in the blink of an eye. The stone gate looked simple and unadorned, like two thick stone slabs, except for that one thin seam, it really didn't look like a door at all. And on both sides of the gate were deeply embedded into the mountain rocks.
"Is that pearl still there?" asked Yin Huan Yue.
"No way, it can't be used in here," said the ghost.
"The ghost said it's right, here has been dug somewhat weakly, if we blast open, then we will be buried alive." Chang Qingzi said.
Yin Huan Yue stood still and didn't speak, but instead carefully observed the stone gate. Yin Huan Yue slowly stepped forward, her hand touching the gap between the doors. "I've got a way."
Only to see the dark moon slowly retreat, both hands drew out the soul-devouring rod. Then turned around and looked at Chang Qingzi with a glance. Chang Qingzi now knew the intention of the dark moon, somewhat helplessly drew out the peach wood sword, fiercely stabbing it into the gap. Then poured spiritual energy into the sword body, causing the door to be slightly shaken, and the gap became much larger. And the dark moon was waiting for this moment, the soul-devouring rod merged into one, fiercely striking towards the gap. The gap finally slowly grew larger, already reaching a point where it could accommodate a person entering.
"Alright," said the ghost immediately. "This stone gate has been here for who knows how long, and if it makes too much noise and collapses, it will attract even more people."
Yin Huan Yue immediately stopped moving. Then the first one squeezed in.
Chang Qingzi couldn't help but shake his head, "I never thought that my Blood-Crying Sword would be used to pry open a door." After saying that, he also squeezed inside.
The ghost followed in and found that the two people were standing still on the spot, as if they had been bewitched. The ghost felt strange and pushed them forward. "What's wrong?"
"Ghost, look." Chang Qingzi didn't turn around, but instead spoke softly to the ghost.
The ghost took a closer look at the scene in front of him, which was somewhat dark, but somehow emitted a faint weak light, allowing the ghost to take a good look at the scene in front of him.
It's actually nothing, just a door, the real entrance to the ancient tomb. The stone gate outside should only serve the most basic protective function. But even the ghost was stunned by the door in front of him. The person buried in this ancient tomb must have been extremely wealthy and almost reached the point of being rich enough to rival a country.
This single gate would drive any tomb raider mad if they saw it. The material of the gate is probably gold mixed with something else, extremely sturdy but still shining like gold. On top of that, there are jade beads the size of eyeballs, rigidly connected to form a dragon shape. The dragon's eyes are rubies. The cloud under the dragon's claws is white mother-of-pearl. In addition, on both sides of the gate are two transparent crystal pillars, with two phoenixes carved on them, looking lifelike as if they were about to soar into the sky at any moment. It wasn't until then that the ghost found the source of the light, which was a string of ten fist-sized night pearls hanging from the top of the passageway between the stone gate and the tomb gate. It was because of this faint light that the ghosts saw the true appearance of this large gate.
"I say, the owner of this tomb is really strange, actually placing a night pearl here in the passageway, as if intentionally letting people see this large gate." Chang Qingzi said sarcastically.
"He's not afraid of encountering that kind of greedy thief who would take the things on the door and leave, is he?" Yin Huan Yue said.
The ghost went straight up and looked carefully, saying: "Things can't be taken away, these scenes are fake." After finishing speaking, the ghost's hand stretched into the dragon's body.
Chang Qingzi and Yin Huan Yue also slowly walked forward to take a look.
"What would be the first reaction of a tomb raider if he saw this?" asked Chang Qingzi.
"It could be the reflection of a real object," said Yin Huan Yue.
No one would remain unmoved by what's in front of them, and since it's a reflection, it means there must be these objects inside. Generally, people will go in to take a look, the ghost thought. That is to say, the owner of this tomb did this on purpose to attract people into his own tomb. This is too strange, who would want someone to disturb their rest after they die? If that's really the case, then it means the owner of this tomb...
"The tomb owner has a problem," said Chang Qingzi.
"Are we going to run into zombies again?" Yin Huan Yue said.
"I didn't see it, so I don't know if he has cultivated to that level or not," said the ghost.
"Then go in." Chang Qingzi said with a faint smile, and a hint of sharp light flashed in his eyes.
"En." The ghost responded with a single word and pushed open the door with its hand.
"Here, how......" Yin Huan Yue said in surprise.
