Chapter 8 Section 3 Double Eyes
Standing still, Qin Feng stared at the scene behind him, where broken and discarded objects occupied nearly half of the street, littered with corpses, in a state of utter desolation.
"What's wrong?" Lin Ruochen turned around and asked in confusion.
Looking around, Qin Feng didn't find anything, only discovering a mouse nest among the broken copper and iron scraps. This scared Lin Ruochen so much that she suddenly let out a cry and flung herself into Qin Feng's arms, allowing him to take advantage of the situation.
"This is strange, I clearly saw a pair of eyes staring at me just now, but when I turned around, there was no one in sight?" The two of them walked out of the gloomy alley, Qin Feng kept muttering to himself about this strange incident.
"You're being paranoid, who's following us? You're just being suspicious for no reason." Lin Ruochen seemed to have gotten used to Qin Feng's nervous and suspicious nature, so she casually replied.
However, despite Qin Feng's nervous and suspicious nature, as a half-disciple of the Tian Shi Dao, he felt that something was indeed off. And Qin Feng did sense that something was not quite right; in this empty and deserted street, apart from himself and Lin Ruochen, there was indeed a third person, a third pair of eyes watching them.
Finally, after walking through the streets, I saw the Jingyang Building, and the rows of commercial shops under it looked tiny. When Qin Feng and Lin Ruochen arrived, the press conference had already begun. At the press conference, Qin Feng originally wanted to see if he could get some helpful information about this matter, but throughout the entire conference, the three or four archaeologists who spoke only talked about things like promoting patriotism and fulfilling their duties as archaeologists, and the rest was just about how they discovered a piece of jade in one place, which was judged to be from the mid-Qing dynasty; or what kind of artifacts they found at some site. Qin Feng's ears were almost filled with calluses from listening. Fortunately, the press conference wasn't very long, and when he couldn't bear it anymore, the meeting just happened to adjourn, giving Qin Feng a chance to catch his breath.
Under the disappointment, the two of them wandered aimlessly. The pedestrians on the street were still unusually few, as if they were afraid of something and dared not to go out. Around the skyscrapers were some old-fashioned shops and grocery stores that looked like they had been there for ages, although they didn't close their doors, no one came out to do business.
It's already dusk now, and unknowingly, fog has fallen in the sky, quickly losing direction.
At this time, the bus stopped, Qin Feng looked up and saw a thin and bony old man standing vaguely on the station sign, looking at Qin Feng with a strange smile, and then got on the bus and disappeared into the white fog.
A woman holding a baby is quickly leaving this place of trouble. The originally sleeping baby suddenly bursts into tears, as if seeing something.
Out of instinct, Lin Ruochen couldn't help but shudder at the sight and pulled Qin Feng to leave this eerie place. Qin Feng also sensed that something was off and cautiously looked around, feeling a third pair of eyes staring intensely at him, which made him feel very uncomfortable.
The chilling fear made Qin Feng have to go with Lin Ruochen to the funeral home, wanting to shake off those eyes and hand over this box to Grandpa.
After passing the intersection ahead, there were obviously more vehicles, and the thick fog gradually dispersed. Qin Feng and Lin Ruochen's minds and bodies relaxed a lot, but this feeling for Qin Feng still didn't change.
The gloomy weather made people feel irritable. The two quickened their pace, hoping to reach the funeral parlor before dark. But the road seemed to stretch on forever, and after wandering around the familiar city for a while, they somehow got lost. Their confused minds became even more flustered, and they were at a loss. A car suddenly swerved recklessly, its horn blaring "HONK! HONK!" shattering the stillness of the foggy evening.
All of this began to stir.
"Life is good, eternal life is better; life is good, eternal life is better......" At this strange moment, Qin Feng's phone suddenly rang crazily.
"Is that Master Qin? It's me, Manager Liu!" Before Qin Feng could even ask a question, the other end of the phone had already conveyed Manager Liu's anxiety and fluster.
"I'm Qin Feng, what's up Manager Liu?"
"Something's wrong, my son Cong Cong is ill again and it looks serious, come quickly and take a look!" Manager Liu said straightforwardly.
"Fallen ill again?" Qin Feng furrowed his brow, looking quite surprised. He recalled the talisman he had given to Manager Liu when he went to his house to read the feng shui last time, and asked in return: "What about the protective talisman I gave you to bring to Cong Cong's body last time?"
It turned out that last time Qin Feng had received money from Manager Liu, he was so touched that he took out the protective charm his grandfather had drawn for him and generously gave it to Manager Liu, asking him to put it on Cong Cong's body, saying it would ward off evil spirits.
Although he also knew that this talisman was of little use in treating Cong Cong's concussion, at least it could protect his body and prevent the vengeful spirit from harming him. But now, the sudden relapse of his condition shocked Qin Feng even more.
"Don't mention it, Master Qin. The talisman on Xiaoqin's body has never taken effect, and now we can't hold on any longer in the hospital, please come quickly."
"Which hospital?" "It's Jingchuan City Third People's Hospital!......" Manager Liu hastily hung up the phone, it seems that things have really taken a turn for the worse.
"Whose phone is it? The tone sounds like something's wrong?" Lin Ruochen stared at Qin Feng with a puzzled expression.
Qin Feng hung up the phone and told Lin Ruochen about it.
Lin Ruochen was initially stunned, her face pale for a while without saying a word. However, after careful consideration, Lin Ruochen felt that this matter needed to be investigated and interviewed as valuable material for uncovering paranormal events. So she followed Qin Feng to the Third People's Hospital.
It's a coincidence, not long after walking, Qin Feng met Liu manager's wife at the sales office of a commercial street. "Master Qin, what are you doing here? What a coincidence, are you going to the hospital?"
Qin Feng responded with a sound, looking at her tense and flustered expression, presumably she had also learned from Manager Liu that Cong Cong was ill. He quickly walked to the side of a red BMW X5, while taking out the car key from a purple bag, he said to Qin Feng: "Let's hurry up then, Little Qin Master, and take them with us!"
Wow! Those in real estate are really rich, even the wife of a manager drives a BMW X5. Qin Feng was visibly excited for the first time sitting in a BMW, feeling comfortable and secretly thrilled, full of emotions.
To say that famous car brand is steady, speeding along without feeling overturned, in the blink of an eye it has already arrived at the parking lot in front of the Third People's Hospital.
It was learned from Manager Liu's wife that Manager Liu's son, because his uncle is the director of the neurology department in this hospital, used this relationship to get Tongtong into a luxurious single room.
Don't look at the small room, but the equipment and environment inside are complete and quiet, with everything from vases to air conditioners, projectors, and even a bathtub, all of which make it feel like a hotel.
Manager Liu's wife took Qin Feng and Lin Ruochen to the third floor, but before they entered the ward, Qin Feng heard strange cries coming from inside the ward in the corridor.
