Chapter 68 Quarrel
Min An slept uneasily, occasionally furrowing his brow, with a faint undulation in his chest. The skin under his collar revealed a hint of snowy white fragrance, captivating Li Peinan's gaze. He had seen many women with curvaceous figures before, each one slender and elegant, but Min An's appearance could only be described as handsome compared to theirs. He couldn't explain why he was drawn to Min An so deeply.
The reason is definitely not on Min An's neck and chest.
Li Peinan understood this principle, but still wanted to explore further. He lowered his head and looked at Min An's sleeping face for a while, noticing that she was not resistant, and couldn't help but stretch out two fingers to open her collar. A faint line of cleavage appeared before his eyes, the exposed skin on her chest was white and delicate, exuding a hint of elegant feminine fragrance, the rest of the spring scenery was hidden under a soft cotton jacket, wrapped tightly, except for the rise and fall of her chest, her front looked like a whole, without any prominent place.
Her slender figure and softness were hidden under her close-fitting armor.
Now that he knew Min An wasn't born with a slender figure, Li Peinan felt relieved. He helped her tidy up her collar and sat in front of the bed to quietly look at her for another moment. She had actually hidden so many small doors, usually seeing him, both nervous and wanting to please, always following closely behind him, disguising herself very cleverly. If it wasn't for tonight's opportunity to investigate once, he even suspected that his own feelings were problematic.
Outside the door, the corridor was filled with urgent footsteps and the low persuasions of the attendants: "Second Master, go back and rest, it's cold and dark outside, if you catch a chill, it won't be good for your body."
A stern voice replied: "Search every room, he must be found."
Li Peinan, who was lying in bed, immediately understood the meaning of Fei's words. It could be seen that on a stormy night like this, he wasn't the only one worried about Min'an. He hesitated for a moment, then made a quick decision, took out a pill to calm the mind and aid sleep, stuffed it into Min'an's mouth, poured some water to make her swallow it, and then lowered the bed curtains to block out the light from inside the bed chamber.
Before long, Fei He broke through the obstruction of his retinue and arrived at the entrance to the residence. First, he knocked on the door with restraint, but upon hearing a cold "no visitors" from inside, he simply lifted his foot and kicked open the door, bursting straight into the room.
The bedroom is divided into two rooms by a partition, with tables, chairs and screens placed outside, and lattice doors and curtains set up inside. After layers of splendor, there is a nanmu wooden red pillar bed.
The lamp's shadow is faint and distant, the fragrance is light and far-off, the curtains hang down to the ground, the surroundings are quiet and still, without a single thread of human voice.
Fei Yi looked towards the curtain and raised his hand in a salute: "Only the young master has lit the lamp here, may I go in to take a look?"
Li Peinan sat on the edge of the bed and asked: "Why check?"
"In the inn, Min'an got lost, I'm worried about his injury, and can only search around blindly."
"What right do you have to come in and inspect my house? Get out!"
Li Peinan's stern voice contained a hint of displeasure. Fei did not retreat, but instead cupped his hands and bowed, saying "I've offended you." Suddenly, he flipped his wrist, drew out the soft sword from his waist, and with a swift motion, stabbed it straight forward like a burst of silver frost!
A gust of cold wind blew out from the curtains, immediately followed by the sound of a sandalwood clapper striking against the tip of Fei Yi's sword. Blocked by this sudden attack, Fei Yi quickly changed his sword move and slashed towards the curtain, intending to cut down the thick, obstructive veil that was blocking his view. This one slash would not only avoid hurting the prince's face but also reveal the secret inside the bedchamber.
Li Peinan guessed through Fei Yi's thoughts, how could he let his last secret intention be exposed in front of the lower people? He rushed out and clapped his hands together, pinching Fei Yi's sword tip, and pushed it straight forward. Fei Yi saw Li Peinan coming with a cold air, but was not afraid, and stepped on his foot, borrowing Li Peinan's pushing force to float out of the gate. If he didn't retreat, the sword would bounce back, and with Li Peinan's ten percent strength, it would inevitably damage the precious sword, and he could only regretfully retreat first.
Li Peinan pulled out a handkerchief from his sleeve, wiped the blood off his palm, and threw it to the ground. He then walked through the heavy curtains to the gate, his nightgown open, revealing his sturdy chest, with two collarbones standing out prominently on his robust torso. Most strikingly, he didn't seem to mind the fresh scratch marks on his neck and shoulder blades, not even bothering to put on an outer garment to cover them up, and simply walked out in a carefree manner.
Fei Yi's face turned red with rage as he coldly said, "You actually did such a beastly thing?"
Li Peinan smiled slightly: "A matter of mutual affection, why would it need beastly behavior."
Fei Yi didn't answer, and with a flick of his sword, he stabbed straight at Li Peinan. Li Peinan dodged quickly and retreated, his feet moving rapidly as he continued to guard the door. Fei Yi launched three attacks, his sword energy cold and fierce, cutting off the corner of Li Peinan's robe. Li Peinan's skills were not to be underestimated either, as he was able to fight Fei Yi evenly with bare hands.
Fei Yi suddenly found an opening, turned his body and stabbed towards the display rack in front of the door, and picked up the scabbard of Rui Yang sword with Li Peinan's hand. "Draw your sword," he said coldly, "I don't kill unarmed people."
Li Peinan leisurely sheathed his sword, flashed a brilliant smile, and stood there with an air of nonchalance, saying lightly: "I've summoned Song Ji to attend me in bed, you're ruining my good fortune. This debt, I'm afraid even if we shed blood, it won't be enough to settle."
Fei Yi sneered coldly: "The young master summons the songstress to let me take a look, not to mention splashing blood, even if it's cutting my flesh with a knife, I can bear it without making a sound. Can the young master do that?"
Li Peinan stretched out his hand and blocked Fei's path with the scabbard of his sword, still speaking in a cold tone: "How can I let you see a woman who has been on my bed so casually?"
Fei Yileng smiled coldly and stabbed his sword at Li Peinan's wrist, entwining with him again. The two had just exchanged a few moves when a loud shout came from the doorway: "Brothers fighting each other, what kind of appearance is this? Do you still care about face?"
Fei Yi had only made half a move with his "Flying Star Dark Degree" when he heard the emperor's rebuke, and yet he still poured out a sword light like a whip, slashing towards Li Peinan's left hand which held the scabbard. Li Peinan didn't have any intention of stopping, and turned the scabbard over to block Fei Yi's killing move once again.
Li Jingzhuo grabbed the two teacups on the table, exerting his full strength, and with a loud crash, he smashed them towards the door, finally separating the two people. Fei Yiru sheathed his sword and retreated to one side, while Li Peinan raised his scabbard and steadily caught the two cups, gently placing them on the display rack.
Li Jingzhuo saw Li Peinan catch the cup he dropped several times, and his goal was to protect the family pet by his side from being splashed with tea. This time, there was no shadow of flying birds or walking beasts in the bedroom, which made Li Jingzhuo immediately infer that the person sleeping behind the curtain was the one who restrained Li Peinan's extreme caution.
Not a single thread of his clothes was out of place, he turned around and bowed to Li Jingzhuo: "Deeply disturbing the king in the middle of the night, there is a reason for this matter, please forgive me."
Li Peinan put down his teacup and turned around to walk into the inner chamber, treating the crowd outside as if they were nothing.
Li Jingzhuo naturally knew where the cause was. He suppressed his anger and said to his attendants, "Raise the curtain." The attendants quietly walked over and pulled up the rope, pulling out the heavy curtain that had fallen, revealing an open gap.
They did things with a sense of proportion, so they didn't pull open the entire curtain, but rather kept their heads down, yet still allowed the two or three people standing in front of the gate to see what was going on inside.
Li Peinan sat on the side of the bed, holding a woman with a wounded right shoulder in his arms. Her fragrant skin and snowy complexion complemented her long black hair, silently conveying her gentle nature. She seemed to be asleep, leaning against Li Peinan's chest, her face hidden by her hair, revealing only a hint of pale red lips.
Li Peinan raised the blanket in his hand, covering the woman's shoulders and also covering her whole body. "Have you seen enough?" he said coldly to the crowd in front of the gate. "Do I need your approval to summon a songstress? All of you get out!"
Li Jingzhuo did not expect that inside was a woman serving as a concubine, and it was not Min An who was staying overnight. His face was still calm, and he waved his hand to call out the attendants, Xiao Zhi and Fei Qi, to retreat together. This was also the first time he had stumbled upon the "good deed" of the eldest son, and he couldn't scold Li Peinan in front of the servants. After all, it was better that Li Peinan had suddenly become aware of his desires and was getting close to women, rather than raising male favorites by his side.
Min An's face was pale as he leaned against Li Peinan's chest, his heart aching with a dull pain. Without a word, he left the bedroom. Seeing Min An had indeed found him, but not in the state he had expected, and instead being turned around by Li Peinan, how could it not make him both heartbroken and angry? He stood under the eaves of the rear house, drenched in the cold rain, waiting for dawn to break.
Xiao Zhiqing turned around, his back to the others, and the shock in his heart was revealed by the slight tremble of his shoulders. Li Jingzhuo waved his hand, and the attendants understood and lowered the curtain, retreating silently.
Li Jingzhuo finished his last sentence: "Come over tomorrow morning and give me a good explanation." He turned around and left.
Li Peinan's cold voice came: "Get out of here, all of you! Did you hear me?"
Xiao Zhiqing came to and bowed towards the curtain, then left the bedroom with his attendants.
Li Peinan carefully pulled up Min An's outer gown, tidied up her clothes inside and out, and laid her flat on the bed. She had taken a pill and was still asleep. He covered her with a quilt and got up to lock the door.
He didn't leave much of a mess in the bedroom, he sat by the table and stayed up for the rest of the night, called the maid to bring water, personally wiped An's hands and face, and then woke her up.
Min An sprang up immediately after clearing his mind from the medicinal effect, and ran out of the tent. Li Peinan said behind him, "I've sent all the people outside away, you go back to the house to change your clothes, don't come out again, I have something to tell you later."
Min An lowered his head to examine his clothes, seeing nothing unusual, he finally put down a worried heart. He was wearing the same outfit as before, naturally taking himself for a man, hastily made a bow and then ran away without looking back.
On the way to the side yard, as expected, not a single figure was seen. It wasn't until he entered the bamboo house that he bumped into Xiao Zhiqing sitting in a chair. For an instant, Xiao Zhiqing's expression was cold and gloomy, until she lifted her head and saw him walking in, then a smile appeared on her face.
"Does Young Master still remember that I once said we need to review an old case?"
Min nodded.
Xiao Zhiqing handed over a small porcelain bottle and said, "The poisonous water used by the guard when he poisoned is in this bottle. It's surprisingly the same as the source of poison from an old case many years ago. I'd like to trouble you, young lord, to investigate it thoroughly."
Min An had previously agreed with Xiao Zhiqing to go to the government office early, and now he had a good reason to leave. He took over the porcelain bottle, turned around and packed his bags. Before long, Fei Yi walked to the bamboo door and called out coldly: "Are you ready?"
Xiao Zhiqing raised his hand and gave a courtesy salute to Fei Yi, smiled, and left the bamboo house first.
Min An left a note on the table, took some corn and got into Fei Yu's carriage. The servant at the gate saw that it was Fei Yu's carriage and heard his unpleasant words, so he didn't dare to stop them and let them leave directly.
Thank you very much, Pig Ears 2, Momo 2, H 2, Coco's landmine (*^__^*)
