Yesterday was Children's Day, today is Dragon Boat Festival, it can be considered as a double festival.
I was thinking of writing something yesterday, but I kept putting it off until now. It's not that Lao Jiu is a busy person, but rather the time to access the computer is really tight these days.
Let me calculate the days, I had a retinal detachment surgery in early March and it's almost 90 days now. Although my right eye retina has been reattached, things are still blurry when I look at them, and my vision has deteriorated severely. I can only use my left eye as my main eye, and I'm slowly getting used to seeing the world with my left eye.
According to the doctor, I need to rest more in the next half year. If I really want to write, I can only seize the time and cherish every moment of using the computer.
Happy holidays! Old Jiu uses tea instead of wine to toast with everyone, wishing you a happy holiday. Also to those students who are about to take the college entrance exam, I wish you all achieve good results!
Time flies, "The Bureau of Murder Cases" has been written for two volumes. I don't know what everyone thinks about it now, if there's anything lacking in the book, please point it out and I'll take some time to think about it.
To be honest, after two years of writing and completing five works, I feel more and more that writing is a subject to be studied. This is different from what I thought at the beginning. When I first wrote "78 Catches the Monster", it was all based on a burst of energy, with whatever cow ghosts and snake spirits, down to the sorcery, as long as it was exciting. By the time I got to "Black Law", I started paying attention to the essence of suspense, using foreshadowing and atmosphere to create tension. And by this book, what I paid more attention to is the sense of rhythm. When writing, it's like being alone on a small boat in the middle of the ocean, with waves crashing against me one after another. I try to navigate through them skillfully, letting the wooden boat pass through the calm and turbulent periods smoothly.
In the past two years, publication policies have changed a lot. Works involving gods and ghosts, Feng Shui, physiognomy, etc., are almost impossible to publish. In order to get "The Bureau of Murder" published, many materials were rendered unusable, but that's okay. The domestic market is so big, with a bit more effort, collecting everything will eventually lead to some good discoveries. I also don't want this book to end up without even its own ISBN, leaving fans without the expectation of even a physical copy, that would be too disappointing.
Speaking of which, I remembered something that happened before. Lao Jiu is considered to have started from scratch, from having no fans at all, and slowly worked his way up to now, also coming into contact with several friends who specialize in writing screenplays. A friend with whom he has a good relationship said that someone had taken a liking to him and wanted to hire him as a ghostwriter, writing 6,000 words per day, with a guaranteed income of 40,000 yuan per month, and his work also having a high possibility of being adapted into a movie.
This income, no doubt very tempting, is many times my current income, but thinking again, from now on there will be no more Yanbei Old Nine, this is quite painful. I still want to write books with my own name, even if the income is lower and the popularity is smaller, but it's worth leaving a name.
I find that such annoying things always happen to me, I also mentioned it when writing the previous book, because I refused to post online, many publishers gave up, and in the end, the e-book version of "Black Rule" was completed, and the physical book almost got killed.
Fortunately, it's all over now. Although the publication was more than three months later than originally planned, I think I've made amends to book fans. I also want to thank those three brothers for being willing to write recommendations on my physical book: "Ten Crimes" author Spider, "Psychological Crime" author Lei Mi, and "Mystery Case" author Qiu Wuyu.
Now thinking about it, I really don't know what the future road will look like, but I'll keep writing seriously. Some people jokingly call me a young author, and some call me a great god, but in fact, I'm just a writer, an ordinary writer, that's all.
No matter how my works are written, they will be on the internet, they will be posted on Tieba Forum, because this is where I originated from, it's where I grew up. When drinking water, one should think of its source!
→_→, want to chat more but eyes are tired, that's all for now, bye, everyone don't forget to eat zongzi.
See you tomorrow!
