Chapter 2: Iceberg Collides with Iceberg
Jung Soo-yeon wakes up very early every day, and her trainee life in the company has made her biological clock extremely normal. This morning was no different from usual, she just wanted to get to the company early to practice, but after leaving the dormitory, she suddenly remembered that today was the first day of school. Since overcoming her camera phobia, she had promised her mother that she would not slack off in either her studies or training. Although her studies were really not great, if her mother knew that she played truant on the first day of school, she didn't know what she would think of herself! So Jung Soo-yeon put aside her practice and ran to school. But she seemed to have arrived a bit early, the whole campus was very quiet, without even a single shadow. After entering her classroom, she sat in her favorite position at the back and waited, but waiting had never been suitable for her, this waste of time was shameful for her, so she chose her favorite pastime - sleep!
Two chairs were simply put together to form a simple bed, and the bag was placed on it, becoming a simple pillow. As soon as she lay down, she heard a faint sound of footsteps entering the classroom. It was early in the morning, and the sound seemed particularly clear. But she knew who had come, at such an early hour, except for Mu Zi Qiu, who was just as bored as herself, she couldn't think of anyone else! However, it was obvious that Zheng Xiu Yan considered sleep to be the most important thing in life, and someone entering wouldn't disturb her, as long as they didn't wake her up. She scattered her hair over her face, covering her cheeks, then closed her eyes and began to make up for lost sleep...
Jung Soo-yeon hated it when someone would chatter away beside her and wake her up while she was sleeping! She didn't care about other background noises, but why did this person suddenly like to talk to himself? Jung Soo-yeon woke up with a start and shouted in anger, accidentally letting out the dolphin-like sound she had been practicing. However, it had a significant effect - the entire classroom fell silent, including the boy who had been chattering away in front of her, a classmate for a year whose name she still couldn't remember!
Jung Soo-yeon woke up, looked around at her classmates in the classroom, and only then realized that she had probably overslept. The drowsiness made her understand that this was not a dormitory, nor could it be a practice room. After feeling embarrassed, she immediately took out a mirror to tidy up her hair as an excuse. While tidying up her hair, Jung Soo-yeon glanced sideways at the boy sitting in front of her, Mok Jae-hyun, who was even colder than herself - the only male student in the entire class whose name she remembered! She had already been given the title of "Ice Princess" in the company, but didn't expect this person to be even more icy than herself! Although she wasn't a stunning beauty, she was still a beautiful woman who could captivate thousands of men. But this guy had only glanced at her a few times since they were in the same class last year! This was not just an insult, but also a blow to her!
However, in her eyes, Muzi Qiu was a boy who looked very ordinary, with everyday clothes and an unchanged hairstyle for years. What made him look the most ordinary was his black-framed glasses that almost covered his entire face! As a result, she still hadn't seen his true appearance until now, which was also due to the fact that neither of them often came to school. However, his action of staring out the window had sparked a bit of curiosity in her.
"Hey, you! Next time, if there's a next time, I'll kick your legs off! I'm telling you again, don't disturb me when I'm sleeping!" Zheng Xiuyan tidied up her disheveled hair, put the mirror back in her bag, and spoke to the boy in front of her. Then she began to study, propping her chin with her hand, gazing out the window.
Outside the window, it's actually just a gray wall, nothing at all, not even a single tree! The classroom of Class 3, Grade 2 is on the first floor, so the whole wall blocks the view outside the window.
"What are you looking at?" Zheng Xiuyan had curiously asked Muzi Qiu before, but his response made her feel that Muzi Qiu was very good at pretending to be profound!
"I remember reading a Chinese novel with a sentence that said, 'People inside the wall want to get out, people outside the wall want to get in. As I watch, what exactly is this wall enclosing?'"
What's going on? Is this really China?! Don't talk nonsense! Besides, isn't it obvious that the wall is surrounding the school they attend? Moreover, Zheng Xiuyan doesn't believe a middle school student can understand Chinese characters, at least she can't!
After that inquiry, Zheng Xiuyan never embarrassed herself again. The intersection of the two was limited to this, and of course, there was also the matter of her occupying his position...
"My name is Sung Yoon-ho..." Sung Yoon-ho was already surprised by Jung Soo-yeon's beauty in his first year of middle school, but facing the cold and icy Jung Soo-yeon, he seemed to be making a fool of himself. So, gradually, he stored this surprise deep in his heart, only occasionally putting his backpack on his desk, resting his head on it, and secretly gazing at Jung Soo-yeon with both eyes, closing his chattering mouth, just like now...
Before long, the classroom returned to its usual bustle of Dongdaemun. The students in the front row started making a ruckus again! In the corner of the classroom, it was as if they were separated from the rest, eerily quiet like a snowy field on a bitterly cold winter day. Two icebergs and one "corpse" staring at the icebergs...
About ten minutes later, a young woman walked into the classroom, and the classroom immediately fell silent again. The woman was none other than the head teacher of Class 3, Grade 2 - Han Sun-mi.
"Everyone, please quiet down. The opening ceremony is about to begin. Please take your seats!" Han Sun-mi had only graduated from university two years ago and after following a one-year course, she finally landed on her feet last year as the homeroom teacher of Class 3-1.
"Has Mu Zi Qiu arrived?" Han Shanmei was delighted that the class she had just taken over had a student who had been the champion of each grade since elementary school!
"Yes!" Mu Zi Qiu didn't turn his face around, his eyes still fixed on that grey wall, and slowly replied with a sentence.
"Has everyone heard the news? Mu Ziqiu has achieved first place in Seoul for his grade again last semester. I hope you all can learn from him!" Although Han Sunmi liked students with good grades like Mu Ziqiu, she didn't like his personality - it was too proud and too cold! However, since his grades were outstanding, she couldn't say much about it. Of course, if Mu Ziqiu's grades were as bad as Zheng Xiuyan's, she would definitely scold Zheng Xiuyan every time!
For example
"Jung Soo-yeon, your grades are at the bottom of the class again. Although I know you're a trainee, you must bring up your grades too, right? By the way, Muzi Qiu is always sitting alone, so why don't you two sit together this semester? And Jung Soo-yeon! If you miss one more class this semester, go home and bring your mom here!"
"It's..." Zheng Xiuyan was very helpless. Compared to studying, she preferred practicing in the company's recording studio and dance room. However, she was still a student after all! At this time, she couldn't help but envy Mu Ziqiu, who sat in her seat and rarely came to class, yet had such good grades.
"Teacher, I don't often attend classes!" Mu Zi Qiu turned his head, staring at Han Shan Mei through those big black-framed glasses, saying coldly.
"Muzi Qiu, although your grades are excellent, but in school it's not just about studying, also need to get along with classmates..."
"I'll teach her!" Muzi Qiu wasn't a smooth talker, and he certainly wouldn't like the nagging Hanguang Mei. Weighing his options, since he didn't often come to school anyway, what's the harm in agreeing?
"That's right! Then, Muzi Qiu classmate, you go back to your own seat, Zheng Xiuyan classmate's seat, Cheng Yunhao sit over there..."
"Don't think I want you to teach me!" Zheng Xiuyan wouldn't bother with Han Sun-mi who was rambling on the podium, and instead said a sentence while looking at Mu Ziqiu who was carrying his backpack.
"Mm." Mu Zi Qiu also didn't say anything, and responded faintly with a single sentence.
