Chapter 13: The Transparent Flower Sea and the Dwarf Statue

  Ghost Record

These flowers are about one meter high, and whether it is the stem, leaves or flowers, they are all transparent. The leaves look like orange leaves, and the shape of the flower looks like a poppy flower enlarged several times.

These strange and beautiful flowers seem not to be of this world, I don't know what kind of plants they are or how they can grow in such a large area at the bottom of this cave.

The beast was also stunned. I asked him if he knew the names of these flowers, but the beast shook his head. It seems that we are both people who have never seen a big snake take a shit.

The vast cave floor was covered with these flowers, thousands and thousands of them forming a transparent sea of flowers. Even Tongtong couldn't help but run out to see, completely disregarding the fact that there were others besides me around her.

What delights me is that the beastly little brother didn't see Tongtong, which means I actually have a third eye, but why couldn't I see the ghost hiding under my uncle's bed that day? This is really hard to understand.

Our station is less than twenty meters away from the transparent flower sea. I let go of the beast and told it not to move, I'll just take a look and come back.

I walked with Tiantian to the side of this transparent flower sea, I wanted to touch it with my hand but was afraid it might be poisonous, so I could only watch with wide eyes. What a strange plant! If we could pull one out and sell it, I reckon we'd make a small fortune.

I asked Tiantian to see if these flowers are poisonous, if they're not poisonous, let's pull out a few and take them away, this trip won't be in vain, otherwise, going into the cave and getting so dirty would really be a big loss.

Tongtong told me that these flowers are non-toxic, but it's useless to take them out. These flowers can't be exposed to sunlight, or they will wither immediately.

Tongtong would have been only 14 years old if she were still alive. How did she understand so much? Every time I asked her, she was unwilling to tell me, saying it was just intuition.

While I and Tiantian were infatuated with watching the flowers, we suddenly heard a human voice. We immediately perked up our ears, and indeed it was a human voice. I quickly ran back to Beast's side and asked if he had heard the human voice. Beast's little brother was extremely excited, saying that he had heard it, it was Captain Zheng and his team, seemingly over there, let's go take a look!

The sound was coming from the other side of the transparent flower sea, this cave is too big, the flashlight can't see the situation on that side, so I helped up my little brother and walked into the flower sea to go to the other side of the cave.

When we walked into the sea of flowers, because it was too dense and the little brother's leg was fractured, we had a hard time walking and could only move slowly.

It wasn't easy to get to the end of the flower sea, but when I saw a hole on the stone wall in front of me that was only as big as a computer screen, an adult could barely crawl in, and for someone as thin and small as me, it was still quite easy to crawl in. As for Tongtong, she didn't even need to be mentioned, she could enter through a hole as small as a finger, after all, she was a spirit body.

The sound was coming out of this small hole, and my younger brother and I put our ears to the opening to listen, only to hear a noisy voice with an echo inside, and all we could make out was one sentence: "What's that? What's that?"

Although we couldn't hear clearly in the end, what excited us was that it was indeed a conversation between four police officers. We didn't expect them to be so close to us, so my brother and I shouted loudly until our throats were hoarse.

But the opposite side did not respond, I quickly called Tiantian to go through the hole and take a look. The beastly little brother heard me calling "Tiantian" all the way, and asked me in confusion: "What is Tiantian anyway? You keep shouting 'Tiantian'."

I scolded him to stop talking nonsense, don't ask what shouldn't be asked. Just as I finished speaking, Tongtong came back and told me that the small hole led to a large cave. The ground of the cave was filled with stone carvings of little people. The four police officers were sitting on a stone platform resting, and when they saw these stone carvings, they too felt extremely surprised.

I immediately told the beast to drill through, but Tongtong told me that this small hole is at least 200 meters long, and the narrowest part may not be able to pass through Uncle Beast.

Never mind all that, let's get through first! After I said that, I drilled into this hole as big as a computer screen, and the beast followed closely behind.

After crawling over 100 meters in the cave, the voices of the police officers grew louder and it seemed like they were about to crawl out, but instead they reached the narrowest point that Tongtong had mentioned.

This hole was originally shaped like a mouth character, and the narrowest part is shaped like an inverted eye character. However, I can still drill through it, but my younger brother who is a beast cannot drill through.

This is troublesome, if he forces his way through, he'll be stuck and dead for sure. If he doesn't make it through, then he'll be left alone in the transparent flower sea cave. Moreover, he still has to retreat over a hundred meters to get back to that side, and he doesn't even have a flashlight.

If I leave Tóng Tóng behind to protect him, my situation will be very dangerous. After all, we can't die even if we fall into the rolling underground river, thanks to Tóng Tóng. If I give him the flashlight and take Tóng Tóng away, how can I walk in the dark? This is a difficult choice.

But in the eyes of the beast, he only knew I had a flashlight and didn't know there was Tongtong, this little water ghost. Seeing that he couldn't get through, he anxiously shed tears, muttering to himself that he didn't want to die!

I couldn't turn around in this hole either, the beast was only two meters away from my feet. I comforted him not to worry and wait here, I'll find Captain Zheng and they will definitely come to rescue you.

After finishing speaking, I don't care about the beast's roar, leaving Tongtong behind to protect him. After all, I still have the Nameless Needle and the Ancient Copper Dagger.

After drilling nearly a hundred meters, I finally drilled out. I crawled out of the small hole and took a look, only to see that the ground was filled with small stone statues. These stone statues were no taller than beer bottles, and the slightly larger ones were only knee-high. They looked similar to the little people carved from stones in my dream that day, where I dreamed of carving stone ducks.

Just as I was watching in amazement, a dazzling light from the flashlight came from across, and someone asked who I was. I jumped up excitedly and quickly said it was me, me, and Tang Qiu Shou.

On the other side were Captain Zheng and his four police officers, I don't know how they got in here. The four police officers were on a stone platform two stories high from the ground, they heard it was me, tied up the ropes and all came down into the cave.

They didn't even think about looking at these stone statues, only asking me where Little Tang (the beast) is! I pointed to the hole behind me and said he's inside, but the hole is too narrow for him to crawl out.

I had just finished speaking when the beast in the hole shouted to Captain Zheng and his men, telling them to think of a way to rescue him. I told the police officers about the general situation of this hole, as well as the large cave behind it and the transparent flower sea.

Next, we each looked for a passage leading to the transparent flower sea cave, searched and found nothing, it seemed that except for this small hole, there was no way in. If these stone people were real, then this small hole was just enough for them to move freely.

I asked the police how they got here, Captain Zheng told me that after entering, they saw the corpse and suddenly saw another living person. Then they chased this living person, chasing for a while before losing him. Finally, they got lost and walked for several hours before returning to the corpse, only to see that person dragging the corpse into a cave entrance. They quickly gave chase.

That person saw that dragging the corpse was not fast, so he threw the corpse into a pit and ran forward alone. Captain Zheng fired his gun and hit the man, but he still managed to escape. It took half an hour of chasing before they finally caught him. As it turned out, this person wasn't human at all - with a pointed mouth, sunken cheeks, and a face full of black fur, resembling an old woman from an African primitive tribe. He died shortly after from blood loss.

When I heard Captain Zheng describe it like that, I thought of the mountain ogre that likes to eat human flesh, but I don't know if it's true or not. I asked the police officers if they had seen any giant bats or red-spotted snake skins, but they all said no, which is really strange.

The police officers were looking for a way out and walked to here, only to find that there was no road to walk on, so they sat down to rest. Then they met us. Captain Zheng asked how we got in, then I simply told him the process, of course, I didn't mention Tiantian's affairs, Tiantian is my secret.

Just as we were talking, the beast crawled out, its two shoulders covered in blood and flesh. It had actually forced itself through that narrow place.

He crawled over and only said one sentence that he was very scared in the cave, feeling like there were monsters appearing behind him at any time to drag him away, so he crawled all the way over. Fortunately, he had been a soldier before, with good physical strength, and persisted in crawling over.

Captain Zheng and a police officer went to lift up the beast, then we didn't care about the transparent flower sea or the stone little man, Shunzi rope climbed onto the police's place, finally tied up the beast and hung it up.

We walked back along the way we came with the police, and after another half day of walking, we still couldn't find the exit, but saw water flowing down from a low place above our heads like urine. We didn't pay attention to it, but Tiantian told me that if you dig one meter upwards at this place, you can get out.

The child's words made me as happy as winning the 500 million yuan grand prize. I told this to the police, but they didn't quite believe me and asked how I knew.

I believe what Tiantian said, but I couldn't say it was Tiantian who said it, so I just said I'd stake my head on it. The police officers looked at each other in dismay, then all said "alright, let's give it a try".

Two police officers climbed up the steep rock wall, using a dagger to dig at the top of the rocky overhang. The cave was filled with brittle stalactites, which were easily dislodged after ten or so minutes of digging with the dagger. The harder ones were shot and shattered with guns. After two or three hours of this, a large pile of rocks lost its support and came crashing down, allowing sunlight to pour in at the same time.

The opening that let in sunlight was only as big as a bowl, but everyone was very happy to have finally found an exit. Mud and water were flowing out of the hole, and a police officer quickly enlarged it to a size that allowed one person to crawl out, then he crawled out first.

Finally we all crawled out and pulled the beast up and dragged it out.

The hole dug up was in a ditch, outside of which was a paddy field. Not far away, villagers were transplanting seedlings and stopped their farm work in surprise when they saw several police officers suddenly emerge from underground, all looking over here.
