Chapter 15: Extra

Chapter 15 Extra (To Qian Tong Yi)

  Extra (To Qian Tong Yi)

From as far back as I can remember, my parents have been constantly arguing and quarreling day and night, always questioning and mistrusting each other. At first, I was worried and afraid about this, until finally a question kept swirling in my mind: Why are you together, and why did you have me?

Time passed day by day, and I went to elementary school. My parents still had small quarrels every day and big quarrels every three days. When they were angry, my father would leave for three or four days in a huff, and my mother would stay at home feeling depressed for three or four days. At that time, I knew that my mother actually couldn't leave my father, she just wanted my father to spend more time with her, but such a simple thing my father couldn't do.

In the sixth grade of primary school, classmates were all talking about "The Return of the Condor Hero", yearning for the love story between Little Dragon Girl and Yang Guo. Yang Guo waited for Little Dragon Girl for 16 years, not only loved her so much but also jumped off a cliff for her, and finally the two were happily together.

At that time, I was thinking that if someone waited for me for sixteen years, this person is either stupid or crazy. I might have already gotten married and had children who can cook soy sauce by now.

It's really hard to imagine that I had this idea since elementary school.

When I was about to graduate from junior high school, Taiwanese idol dramas were born. The popular "Meteor Garden" almost became the topic of conversation for the whole class every day. Due to the constant war at home, the TV had been smashed by my father in a fit of rage long ago. Watching TV and playing video games were never part of my life. My only hobby was listening to the endless quarrels of two people outside as background music while I hid in my small room reading books and writing.

Even so, I seem to remember the plot of each episode very clearly, thanks to my deskmate who tirelessly tells me about Doumyouji and Hanazawa's cool performances every day.

And at this moment, my feelings towards my parents have changed. They can't leave each other, but they also can't stand each other.

Every day, my classmates would fantasize about what their ideal Prince Charming was like and who they wanted to marry. Watching them have these thoughts made me realize a problem that completely overturned my elementary school way of thinking - I didn't believe in the existence of any Prince Charming at all, and even less so had expectations for marriage.

I always thought that no one could leave their parents, but finally announced their divorce when I was in high school.

Divorce has some impact on children, but in my eyes, I think they didn't divorce is the real impact on me. The world finally calmed down, and I also faced another move.

I followed my father to a brand new place and started over, it's not common for people to transfer schools during the tense period of high school, so my appearance caused quite a stir in the whole class.

That was the first time I saw Si Luo Chen, and I have to admit that I'm quite good-looking, at least there are always boys chasing after me. But I've never seen a girl who is so beautiful just from one side. What's more important is that when all my classmates' eyes were on me, even some boys were whispering something, she was the only one who was leaning against her chin and staring out of the window with a very calm expression, as if the flowers and grass outside the window were more attractive than I, the new student.

It didn't take a week for me to get familiar with my deskmate, and I found out that Si Luo Chen was actually a spoiled rich girl. All the teachers in school were afraid of her, and even when they saw her, they would be extremely polite, so nobody dared to talk to her, let alone make friends with her.

At this moment, I suddenly thought of a female version of Domyoji.

It's obvious that I heard a hint of jealousy in the tone of my deskmate. But I think Si Lu Chen actually doesn't want to be treated like this by everyone, she also wants to normally integrate into the environment, right?

That's what I thought at the time.

In the first half of the second year of high school, as a transfer student, I still had good grades and entered the top three. However, Si Luo Chen's grades were the first in the class.

I didn't expect her to be not only beautiful and from a good family, but also have such great grades. Although she never spoke to me, my gaze always drifted towards her. Her hair was very long, scattered and slightly curly at the ends, just like a Chinese version of a Barbie doll. Her face was always expressionless, often sitting by the window with her chin in her hands, quietly staring at the sky outside, I wonder what she's thinking about every day.

After school, there would be two or three people coming to pick her up, and the next day at school, there would also be two or three people sending her off. Day after day, this kind of life is actually very boring, right?

The first day of senior high school, I came especially early because my father had to go to work early and specially rode a motorcycle to send me. A thermos of hot milk and a piece of bread from home were my breakfast, and I held them tightly in my arms for fear of getting cold on the way to school. After getting off the motorcycle and walking into the school gate, I saw a figure squatting beside the garden not far away.

I don't know why, but just looking at this figure, I carefully tiptoed over and found her stroking a little kitten.

"It's hungry." This was the first thing I said to her.

She turned her head to look at me without expression, then turned back to stare at it: "I brought food, but it doesn't like it. It will starve to death this way."

I crouched down beside her, looking at the small kitten that was really struggling to hold on, and saw that the food she had brought was not something a kitten would like, but instead there was a large piece of beef.

"It's still small and can't eat these."

"Really?" Her voice was faint, with little inflection, and she continued: "I thought that way it would be full and grow up quickly."

No wonder she's a rich young lady, there are many common sense things she still doesn't understand.

And I unexpectedly took out the milk from my arms and poured it on the ground without any hesitation.

The kitten smelled the milk and immediately came over to indulge, a whole bottle of milk was given to this little kitten who had just met for the first time.

"It turns out it likes milk, just like me." She smiled slightly, her tone somewhat excited.

I was stunned on the spot by her smile. Last semester I didn't even say a word to her, let alone see her smile.

That was the first time I witnessed what "beauty" is.

The kitten finished drinking milk and lazily crawled into the garden. The school also became lively.

I stood up straight and said, "My name is Xiang Qian Tong."

She took two steps back, turned around and said lightly: "I know you're a transfer student, your grades are very good. My name is Si Luochen, nice to meet you."

"Do you know me?" I asked in surprise, but felt a bit rude.

"You came suddenly, I naturally know you." Then asked: "Why did you transfer suddenly?" I don't know if it's because of my contribution to the milk, but she was willing to chat with me, and I felt a sense of being honored.

"My parents got divorced, I followed my dad to live in a new environment, so I had to transfer schools." I explained why I transferred schools in a very simple way, this is something I've never told anyone before, and yet I just...told her!?!

She hung her head and didn't respond, as if thinking about something. Finally, she turned around and left. I stared at the back of her leaving figure, without calling out to her, just a little disappointed.

But I clearly didn't expect her to say anything to me, so why would I still feel disappointed?

At noon on the same day, during lunchtime, Si Luo Chen suddenly appeared in front of me and said: "Qian Tong, do you want to go eat together?"

She actually called out my name.

For the first time I feel that my name can be called so beautifully. Growing up, every time my mother calls my name, it's like being stepped on, her voice always shouting loudly.

It's really unbearable to look back on past events.

The two of us arrived at the school cafeteria, where the food was very greasy. She probably rarely came here to eat, or maybe not at all. I just didn't know why she followed me here today, and I was left feeling bewildered.

She sat down with the takeout and ate slowly, not picking at the food that wasn't very good, didn't waste any, and looked so elegant while eating. She was indeed a young lady, even eating had such good manners. Glancing at the women next to her who were gobbling down their food, she sighed silently, some gaps were lost from the starting line.

He put down his chopsticks, wiped his mouth with a paper towel and said: "I've thought about it for a long time, but I don't know how to describe the feeling you mentioned this morning. However, I do know that such a home makes you very sad, right?"

I really didn't expect her to leave in silence that morning, and I didn't know what words to use to comfort me.

It feels like having a sweet treat in my heart, with an indifferent expression: "I'm already used to it, they're not suitable for each other, and separating is good for both of them. They've been arguing for over a decade, some problems could have been solved long ago."

  "You're very optimistic, that's great."

"What about you? I've been here for a year now and haven't seen you have any friends." Since I shared all my secrets, I naturally also want to understand yours.

That's what I thought at the time.

"I didn't expect her to say: 'I'm not very good at getting along with people, I always feel like they look at me differently.' She said it with a somewhat gloomy expression."

"How could I? I think you're great, so from now on we'll be good friends." I said with a smile.

Cai Luo Chen remained silent, gazing at me, and finally a warm smile emerged from the corners of her mouth.
