Chapter 10 Return of the Finery

Chapter Ten: Returning Home in Glory

Three days pass in the blink of an eye.

In the past three days, a maid in light green clothes brought food and drink several times, but she couldn't enter the room each time. All that could be heard was Ning Feng saying "Just put it there" in a hurried tone.

One day is like this, two days are like this, three days are still like this.

Every time the maids brought in food and took away the empty dishes, they would often see a golden light flowing out from the gap under the door.

Like water, it is tough and stubbornly comes out.

They can serve as maids in the core of the Temple of the Sun God, and they are not ordinary people without cultivation. To be honest, at this stage, Ning Feng and others who have just become formal disciples may not be a match for any one of them.

The maid who witnessed this scene secretly admired that the new junior brother was really hardworking, and his talent was also impressive, being able to persist in practicing two or three times a day.

Why did it have to happen during meal time?

The shallow green maid was very depressed, and she thought about taking the rare opportunity to get in touch with this promising Shinto priest, and in the future, she could rely on him for help.

In just three days, it is said that many maidservants have already made appointments with the new disciples, and when they officially enter the sect through the Fu Yao Conference and gain the power to open their own mansions, they will invite these maidservants to serve them.

In comparison, the maid in charge of serving Ning Feng was a pitiful sight.

In a life-and-death struggle, Ning Feng was back and forth between Jiǔ Sǐ Jìng and Yào Shī Liú Lí, yet he still hadn't done anything, which made people feel resentful.

Three days' time is almost coming to an end.

There is only a small amount of sand left in the hourglass, visibly decreasing.

In the quiet room, golden light is thickening.

  "Boom!"

A loud rumble, shaking in Ningfeng's mind, the next moment, it spread throughout his body, his clothes fluttering like ripples on water, as if a powerful force was bursting out from within, constantly dispersing outward.

At the same time, the entire quiet room was filled with brilliant light, countless light spots appeared out of thin air, like hummingbirds rushing towards a cluster of flowers, eagerly surging into Ning Feng's body.

Golden light flowed like water, Ning Feng sat quietly on a cushion, his body emitting a glass-like luster.

"Body like crystal, inside and outside are clear!"

"The Jadeite Scripture of the Apothecary has finally been completed!"

Ning Feng opened his eyes, with a joyful expression on his face.

For three years outside the gate, apart from tasks that temper one's will and physique such as sweeping and chopping firewood, nothing else was practiced. The sole focus was on studying the Medicine Master Lapis Lazuli Radiance Sutra, and today, I have finally achieved a small accomplishment in embodying the scripture's description of having a body like lapis lazuli.

Further back, there is a great Buddhist Dharma hidden within, but it's not something that the disciples of the Sun God Temple would cultivate.

They made a big fuss over this one step of solidifying the foundation and casting... the Luminous Body!

"Outside the gate for three years, more than 3,600 people, in the end only 100 people qualified to participate in the Tribulation of Washing the Gods. Among these 100 people, the vast majority have already formed their Glass Bodies."

"My qualifications, well, they're just average."

Ning Feng felt a mix of relief and joy, "Originally thought that after joining the Divine Palace's lineage through the Fu Yao Conference, I would have to humbly cultivate my Luli body without any mishaps. Who would have thought that at this critical juncture, it succeeded!"

His pharmacist Lu Li had been only one step away from the realm of Lu Li, and this step would normally take a few months to cultivate. Now, it was actually completed in just three days.

There are sleepless nights that cannot be looked back on, and the luxurious conditions in this quiet room, but ultimately, it is ——

  "Nine deaths in one's heart!"

  "Indeed, it's incredibly amazing!"

The gentle breeze was blowing, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of longing. "I still haven't fully grasped it," he thought to himself, "if I could reach the ultimate level, what kind of splendor would that be?"

  "Hmm? What flavor?"

Ning Feng suddenly wrinkled his nose and faintly smelled a light scent floating in the quiet room.

He lifted his sleeve, pulled at his collar, lowered his head and took a sniff, suddenly enlightened.

  "It's the smell on me."

"It turns out that casting a crystal body and transforming one's bones is like this."

In the past three years, Ning Feng had thought many times about what it would be like to have a glazed body. The legendary transformation was said to involve expelling a pile of impurities, or running wildly to the toilet multiple times.

He didn't expect it would be like this.

"Dragon's brain generally has a breath."

Ning Feng easily judged that the fragrance emitted from him was the best incense, with a fresh and clean scent like grass, as pure as crystal.

  "It's been three days..."

He got up from bed, stretched his limbs and thought: "Can I leave now?"

"It's also time for me to go back and take a look. I know that Father will be very happy when he knows that I have successfully joined the Temple of the Sun God."

Thinking of his father in this life, Ning Feng didn't know whether to laugh or cry. On the days when he wasn't around, no one took care of him, and who knows how miserable his father's life was?

Ning Feng was thinking about how to ask if he could leave when a deliberately lowered, fearful of disturbing something, woman's voice came from outside the door:

"I have come at your summons, young master; I beg of you to grant me an audience."

Ning Feng listened to the voice and found it familiar. Wasn't it those shallow green servant girls who had brought him here that day? What did she look like again?

  "Come in."

Ning Feng thought for a moment and then responded.

The door of the quiet room was pushed open, and a maid held a tray, covered with brocade, so that nothing could be seen on it.

Because of his previous thoughts, Ning Feng couldn't help but take a few more glances at the light green servant girl, and finally managed to remember what she looked like.

The maid noticed his gaze and her face flushed with embarrassment, but she stood tall with a swan-like neck, letting him look.

  "It's really easy to blush."

Ning Feng thoughtlessly and thanked her with a bow: "Thank you for your hard work these past few days, miss."

The maid's face is still red and puffy, somewhat revealing a hint of resentment. If her eyes could speak, they would say: "What are you doing so early?!"

  It's been three days already...

The maid resentfully returned the resentment, after all, did not dare to delay the proper matter, and sent the tray to Ning Feng's face, saying: "Report to the young master, this is a slave servant sent by the Executive Temple to give to the young master."

"The butler also said that in three days' time, the young master can make his own decision to go or stay, as long as he doesn't miss the Fu Yao Conference four days later."

After finishing speaking, the maid looked at Ning Feng with great anticipation, hoping to hear him say something like "I'll stay here" so that they could spend more time together.

Ning Feng pressed down the root without noticing her gaze, and directly lifted the brocade. In sight was a silver-white satin ribbon, in a ring shape, about two feet long.

A ribbon flowing with white light, as if it were the finest silk, reflecting every ray of sunlight with precision.

  "Outer gate sunshade."

Ning Feng picked it up with interest and tied it around his forehead in front of the maid.

He was originally a clean and clear young man, wearing a silver-white sun hat, which was elegant and added a few points of coolness.

"The Outer Gate Sun Scarf is awarded to all disciples who have trained in the Outer Gate for three years, as proof of their status as an Outer Gate disciple of the Divine Palace."

"This silver-white sun scarf, although not as good as the golden sun scarf worn by Master Zhufeng himself at the Fu Yao Conference, has various mysterious uses and is not an ordinary product."

"Inside is sealed a Sunlight Spell with only one strike of power, and it just so happens to be at the extreme limit that the Lapis Lazuli body can withstand after being cast."

"It's both a symbol of identity and has self-defense uses, great stuff!"

The wind in his mind had flowed through the information about the outer door sunshade, and he didn't forget to close his eyes and feel it for a moment. He only felt warm on his forehead, as if he was always under the warm sunshine of winter.

"Outer gate sunshade are all like this, I wonder what a real sunshade is like?"

  "I'm looking forward to it!"

Ning Feng looked up and saw that the light green-robed maid was still there, feeling a bit strange in her heart. She still spoke politely: "Thank you for your trouble, Miss. There's nothing going on here, you can go down now."

He spoke politely, but couldn't stop the maid's face from revealing a more obvious disappointment.

  "Right, I'm leaving immediately."

Suddenly, another blow came out of his mouth.

"Wear this foreign sun hat back home, Father will definitely be even happier, and proudly show it off to the neighbors?"

Ning Feng's heart was never in it from the start, and shallow green maid was destined to be disappointed.

She pouted and left with a resentful look, as for whether she would say something like "not understanding the romance" behind her back, that was not something Ning Feng could know.

He just wants to go home now.

Even Ning Feng had nothing to collect, wearing a sunshade, leisurely descending from Tian Dou Mountain.

At the foot of the mountain, ten miles away, there is Chaoyang Town.

Walking on foot as if driving a car, I stepped into the familiar Chaoyang Town and headed home.

The closer he got to home, the more urgent Ning Feng's footsteps became, without him even realizing it himself. The journey that normally took a good few hours was completed in just a few dozen breaths today.

Her slender and healthy body is one thing, but more importantly - she misses her family dearly.

  "I'm back!"

Ning Feng stood outside a dilapidated small courtyard, adjusted his clothes and the towel on his head, and couldn't help but smile as he pushed open the door and entered...
