Chapter 33: Rescue

  Chapter Thirty-Three: Rescue

"Herman, we're here to rescue you." Just as Stroude's boot was about to land on that head, a voice with a teasing tone came from outside the window, in standard English. Stroude stopped his action in time, and the voice was one he knew well, only his own people would call him by his real name - Herman.

"Oh God, Eugene, you've finally come, I thought I was going to die here" After the masked man pulled Strou from the window, Strou, still in a state of shock, saw Eugene standing against the wall. Without worrying about still being in danger, Strou and Eugene hugged each other, giving all the words of praise they knew to Eugene.

A tall figure emerged from the shadows behind the wall, and without any courtesy, slapped Straus on the back of his head with a loud smack. "Idiot, this isn't the time to get chummy, hurry up and leave!" Straus, who had been stunned by the slap, turned around to see a nearly 1.9-meter-tall masked man staring at him with eyes full of murderous intent. Straus, who was usually good at reading people's expressions, quickly shrunk his neck and swallowed back the curse that was about to leave his lips. The burly man had just been scolding him in authentic Oxford English, and if Straus's own curses had left his mouth, he estimated he would have died a very ugly death.

Eugene smiled and patted Strath's shoulder, indicating that Strath shouldn't take it too seriously. The clever and seasoned CIA agent Strath was a bit bewildered. Eugene, who usually had an iron face, actually smiled, and what's more, he was smiling at himself. God, what had happened during these days of being kidnapped?

No time for fantasy, Eugene picked up Strou and slung him over his shoulder, striding out of the courtyard with the tall, burly man. Outside the courtyard, a black Ford sedan was parked, with White, looking refined and dignified, smoking at the driver's seat. Seeing Strou unharmed, White merely raised an eyebrow in greeting. What happened next left Strou stunned - when those masked men in black emerged from the courtyard, White, who usually kept to himself and didn't like talking to strangers, actually got out of the car and greeted them, a stark contrast to how Strou had been treated earlier.

"You guys go first, we'll stay behind to clean up this place and hide those bodies. If not, it will be a lot of trouble." The tall black-clothed man spoke in a low voice with White at the car window, while Strou tried his best to lean over and listen, but he still didn't hear anything because Eugene, who was on the carriage, kept talking non-stop to him, distracting Strou's attention.

Perhaps seeing the doubt in Straus's mind, after bidding farewell to the black-clad masked man, White drove away from the courtyard and looked at Straus through the rearview mirror. "Herman, those people are just temporarily hired by the CIA, they're not our people, they're only helping us because of Hunter's face and money, don't provoke them. Their leader is a very scary person, not someone you can afford to mess with." Seeing a hint of discontent in Straus's eyes, White's last sentence was emphasized as a warning to him.

"Herman, don't misunderstand White, he's doing it for your own good. They're all masters, you have no idea what they're capable of, it's terrifying." Eugene, who was normally tough, still had a lingering fear when mentioning this matter. Zhao Zhi's horrific skills were still fresh in Eugene's memory, and Yu Dazhi, Mo Lun, and Meng San's individual abilities also made Eugene admire them. Especially Mo Lun's skill in counterfeiting, which made Eugene remember it vividly, even forcing Zhao Zhi to agree to let Mo Lun make a few fake passports for himself, Mo Lun's craftsmanship was far superior to the techniques of those old antiques from the CIA.

After Eugene's expression and White's advice, the atmosphere in the car was a bit awkward. Strath saw the situation and actively opened the topic, "How did you know I was locked up here?" In Strath's view, his being detained here should be the result of the CIA's investigation, it seems that he is still quite valued by the CIA.

The problem with Strou actually isn't difficult to answer, and the main credit for rescuing Strou goes to Xiao Cilang. After agreeing on a time and place to trade the bronze tripod with Xiao Cilang, Zhao Zhi hired many thugs from Beiping through Yu Dazhi, their task was to keep an eye on Xiao Cilang's movements 24 hours without interruption. The price that Molan asked for this time was too high, Xiao Cilang didn't dare make this decision, and he couldn't afford such a large sum of money, he needed to consult with his superiors about this matter.

After sending off the fake Moriuchi, Shojiro went directly to the Toa Bank to find Miyamoto Kento. 500,000 is not a small amount, he needs to get Miyamoto Kento's consent before he can withdraw gold bars worth 500,000 from the Toa Bank. Miyamoto Kento was indeed very interested in the bronze tripod that Shojiro mentioned, and readily agreed that he would send someone to deliver the gold bars worth 500,000 to Shojiro's store the next day, and even personally sent Shojiro out of the Toa Bank.

Kojirō didn't go home immediately after leaving the East Asia Bank, but instead took a rickshaw to a mansion in the suburbs where Strath was being held. Of course, Kojirō wasn't there to see Strath - he was just a merchant who did business with the Black Dragon Society and wasn't one of its core members, so he wouldn't be privy to such information. Kojirō had come to find some of the Black Dragon Society's henchmen who lived in this mansion, as he needed their help.

Kojirō had his own plan. He planned to find the guys from the Black Dragon Society in the suburban villa to help him, and while deceiving Morren into going to the suburbs for a transaction, he would directly send someone disguised as a bandit to do a black-eat-black, which could take down Morren and get rid of the bronze tripod, and also secretly swallow the 500,000 yuan used to buy the bronze tripod.

Kojirō's abacus was very precise, but he forgot that the rickshaw driver who brought him was Chinese. This little name called Hei Dan's rickshaw driver knew Yu Dazhi, and also knew about the matter of Yu Dazhi gathering a group of thugs to help recently, so after sending Kojirō back home, the address of this mansion was delivered into Yu Dazhi's hands.

After verification, Zhao Zhi led his men to collectively move out. White and Eugene were only here to pick up Strou and escort him away from Beiping City. Everything else was left to Zhao Zhi, which is why the scene of rescuing Strou appeared earlier. And Zhao Zhi volunteered to stay behind to clean up, in order to clear out the valuable items in the mansion and give bonuses to those who came to help.

After learning from Eugene about his rescue, Strath, who had always looked down on the yellow race, fell silent. Looking at the black night outside the car window, he couldn't accept it. When did these yellow people have such a powerful figure? And they were actually some mercenaries who only recognized money. When did the Chinese have professional mercenaries?
