Chapter 10: The Mysterious Troops! (Part 1)
The night was deep and dark, the dilapidated Treasure Mountain City was shrouded in a dead silence, just like a ghost town.
The Japanese sentry stationed in Baoshan City had withdrawn two days ago, and even the small Japanese squad stationed outside the city had received orders to leave this gloomy place tomorrow. Originally, it was already seven days, even if there were Chinese soldiers hiding in some corner of the city, they would have starved or frozen to death by now.
However, the little devils absolutely did not think that there was still someone hidden under Mount Bao.
Without warning, a broken beam under the ruins somewhere in the city suddenly moved.
Then, a dark head emerged from the ruins like a ghost, looked around and retreated silently. After half a bag of smoke time, six black shadows flashed out of the ruins like ghosts. No need to guess, these six people must be the "special warfare" squad led by Yue Weihan.
In addition to Chi Chengfeng, Cao Xinglong and Niu Dagen, Yue Weihan absorbed two new members.
These two old soldiers were both from the guard squad. One was named Liu Tiezhu, who had practiced iron sand palm when he was young and could break six neatly stacked green bricks with one slap! When he first enlisted, he still fought with Chi Chengfeng, but as a result, he was beaten by Chi Chengfeng and broke two ribs. From then on, whenever he saw Chi Chengfeng, he would walk around him. The other was named Hua Hanlin, whose name sounded elegant, but in fact, he grew up in a bandit's den. During the Northern Expedition, he followed Yao Changqing. This kid was good at light work and could run faster than a wild dog. His shooting was also very accurate, but compared to Yue Weihan, he was slightly inferior.
It turns out that Yue Weihan was indeed cautious enough to stay hidden in the tunnel for a whole seven days before he dared to come out!
But then again, such caution is absolutely necessary, it's a matter of life and death, how can one be careless?
Yue Weihan made a gesture, and the five figures behind him quickly dispersed and hid in the shadows. Having been hiding in the tunnels for several days, Yue Weihan had nothing better to do than teach Chi Chengfeng and others some modern special forces hand signals and simple tactics.
Yue Weihan, although not a special forces background, he had received the most brutal special training in the Devil's Party training camp, and in Afghanistan, Iraq, Chechnya and other places, he had also fought with American SEALs and Russian Spetsnaz, and the number of SEALs and Spetsnaz who died at Yue Weihan's hands was not small.
The six men advanced in search formation and soon discovered the Japanese army stationed outside the city.
Three military tents were pitched in the shape of a character, with an open space in the middle where a bonfire was lit. Two Japanese soldiers sat shoulder to shoulder roasting by the fire, while two tents on the left were dark and gloomy, and the one on the right had a light on inside. Ten paces away from the tent on the right stood a sentry, a Japanese soldier with a Type 38 rifle slung over his back.
Yu Weihan raised his hand and Chi Chengfeng and others quietly approached him.
When everyone gathered, Yue Weihan quickly gave the combat order in sign language. Cao Xinglong was responsible for dealing with the Japanese sentry, Chi Chengfeng and Liu Tiezhu were responsible for taking care of the two Japanese soldiers roasting fire, Niu Dagen and Hua Hanlin were responsible for clearing the Japanese soldiers in the two tents on the left, Yue Weihan was responsible for dealing with the little devil in the tent with lights on the right. All actions should use cold weapons as much as possible, do not open fire unless absolutely necessary! Strictly prohibited the use of hand grenades!
After giving the order, Yue Weihan suddenly waved his hand again, and the crowd quietly disappeared into the darkness.
The little devil squad stationed outside Baoshan City was indeed too careless. Due to the cold weather, and the front line had already advanced more than 100 miles forward, they absolutely did not think that this place would be subject to a surprise attack by the Chinese army, so no sentry was even dispatched, and the vast majority of soldiers had long since retreated into their quilts.
In less than half a cup of tea's time, the Japanese sentry ten steps away silently fell to the ground.
The two little devils who were roasting the fire were unaware, and in a flash, two dark shadows had risen from behind them like ghosts. With just two soft clicks, the two little devils were done for - one had his throat crushed by Chi Chengfeng, while the other had his neck twisted off by Liu Tiezhu.
The next moment, Niu Dageng and Hua Hanlin flashed into the two tents on the left.
Chi Chengfeng and Liu Tiejun, who had already gained the upper hand, divided their troops into two routes to support Niu Dageng and Hua Hanlin respectively.
Four men held gleaming daggers in their hands, the blades reflecting a cold and eerie aura of death under the firelight. A moment later, the sound of sharp blades tearing through human flesh echoed from within the tent.
Almost at the same time, Yue Weihan also suddenly lifted the curtain of the canopy on the right side.
A Japanese military officer was reading a letter by the light of a lamp, and upon hearing a noise, instinctively reached for his sword, but Yue Weihan would not let him have his way.
Before the devil officer pulled out his sword, Yue Weihan's dagger had already pierced his throat. The devil officer's action of pulling out his sword suddenly stopped, and his two eyes were wide open, and his throat made a series of unpleasant "gurgling" sounds, as if he wanted to say a few last words. However, soon after, he fell to the ground with a thud.
When Dang Yuke Wei Han turned around and left the account, Chi Chengfeng and others had already finished all the work.
It was a pretty good fight, half of the squad nearly twenty little devils didn't understand what happened before they went to see their god.
Under the dim firelight, Chi Chengfeng, Niu Dagun, Liu Tiezhu and Hua Hanlin were all covered in bloodstains, as if they had just crawled out of a pile of corpses. Cao Xinglong, however, was not stained with a single drop of blood. Yue Weihan immediately ordered: "Dalong, Laochi be on guard, Dagun go back to meet up with the brothers, Hanlin and Zhuzi follow me to strip off these little devils' dog skins."
In less than two hours, Chi Chengfeng and Niu Dageng had escorted out all the remaining thirty or so brothers.
Although the original entrance and cellar were blown up, Yue Weihan had already arranged for people to bury escape bricks on the wall of the deep well at the beginning of the excavation. When exiting the tunnel, they only needed to kick these hidden bricks inside, and it immediately became an escape ladder that even women could climb up.
…………
The front line of the 98th Division of the National Army.
The commander of the 98th Division, Xia Zhongyu, and his chief of staff, Huang Mei Wu, observed the Japanese army's movements through binoculars. They saw that the Japanese army's position was brightly lit, with soldiers on both banks of the Yangtze River busy as could be. The efficiency of the Japanese engineers was not low, and before half a night had passed, the iron-clad floating bridge connecting the two banks was almost completed.
Putting down the telescope, Xia Zhongyu said with a distant scowl: "Damn it, if I had an artillery battalion in my hands, those little devils would dare to build a bridge so openly?"
"Huang Mei Wu bitterly smiled and said: 'Commander, the 36th Division, 87th Division, and 88th Division do have artillery battalions, but what's the use? They were wiped out by the enemy's heavy artillery regiments in less than two days. To be honest, the firepower of our National Army is no match for that of the Japanese Army. The firepower of a single Japanese infantry regiment is almost equal to that of two of our divisions!'"
"No way!" Xia Zhongyu said resolutely, "We can't let the little devils set up the pontoon bridge. Once this bridge is set up, the enemy's chariots and heavy equipment will be able to cross the river, and that would be a big trouble!"
Huang Mei Wu shook his head and said: "The little devil's vigilance is very high, unless we launch a strong attack, our people can't get close!"
"Charge ahead! Tonight, I'll personally lead the guard battalion!" Xia Zhongyu said with a fierce tone, "However, it's not time yet. Let's wait for another two hours, when those little devils are getting sleepy, then we'll attack."
