1. Shelves speech
To be honest, this is the most entangled chapter that Nan Dao has faced since writing articles. The reason is simple: the title of the chapter only has four words, which is not Nan Dao's strong suit - seven-word titles! Moreover, the title is very clichéd, and once it appears, it will scare away many fans and future fans. This chapter is called: "Shelves' Feelings!"
Thanks for staying and continuing to read, book friends!
As for whether to put it on the shelves, Nan Dao has been repeatedly deliberating since January 5th, hesitating back and forth. Sometimes he hopes that the website can buy out our article, so that everyone can see it all at once without paying a fee; sometimes he tells himself to just make the whole article free, as he really fears seeing the pitiful few cents of royalties after it's put on the shelves. It wasn't until January 29th, when Editor Xia Tian returned to work after the New Year holiday, that I raised my doubts.
I said to Xia Tian: "Can my article be applied for buyout?"
Xia Da replied: "This one doesn't need to be bought out, the results are very good, let's split the shelves..."
I said: "I want to participate in 17K's newcomer deity plan, how can I do it?"
Xia Da said: "I've been paying attention to you, don't think too much for now, focus on writing, accumulate more, and don't worry about anything else..."
I asked again: "When is it suitable for my article to be put on the shelves?"
Xia Da said: "On February 1st, it just so happens that the first batch of new books for the Year of the Dragon will be put on shelves!"
Since Xia Da, who has always paved the way for me, said so, what else can I hesitate about? So I resolutely adjusted the plot structure and chapter content to prepare for the anxious February 1st!
Why did I ask Xia Da about buying a break-up as soon as I came up? Because Nan Dao really wants to give book friends something, you know...
Why did I ask Xia Da so ignorantly how to become a god?
Because Nandao has a lot of creative ideas and conceptions in his heart, from military history to fantasy science fiction, except for women's frequency, Nandao wants to try everything in this life! Okay, everyone come despise my arrogance and conceit! However, Nandao sincerely hopes that in this life he can dedicate the articles he thinks are good-looking to book friends who support and like him!
It's not the first time that book friends who like to read Nan Dao Wen have left messages in the review area, roughly meaning that I'm a student or I'm poor and don't have money to watch VIP chapters. Hope Nan Dao can always be free! Your feelings I really understand! Some authors complain about readers: "One thousand words cost only 3 cents! I update six thousand words a day, you just need to spend one cent eight cents, which is 0.18 yuan, and that's enough! Can't even spare this little money? In a month, it's just five yuan four jiao, not even enough to buy a pack of White Sand cigarettes!" The author's complaint is so helpless...
Actually, I did some calculations for book friends. Some authors are really prolific and can produce 5 million words a year. If a book friend reads from start to finish, it would cost 150 yuan. If they read 10 such books a year, that's 1,500 yuan, which is not a small expense! At my own pace, I can finish reading 100 million words in a year, how much money is that? So, I understand book friends who hope to read for free. After all, over 1,000 yuan or more is not a small amount for students with no income and some friends who are struggling to make ends meet. With this money, you might be able to buy a new set of clothes for your hardworking mother, or treat your fellow struggling friends to a happy meal, so others won't say you're stingy.
But understanding is mutual, so I'll have to turn around and help book friends calculate another hidden account!
If you are willing to spend 1,500 yuan to read books for a year, then not only will you not waste money, but you will actually save several thousand yuan. Moreover, you won't have to worry about damaging your body or getting into trouble! Why is that?
We only have 24 hours a day, and after subtracting the time spent sleeping, eating, studying, and working, there is not much time left. Some people use this remaining time to indulge in nightlife, spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars on a single night; some people spend their remaining time playing mahjong with others, losing hundreds of dollars in one night; some people play slot machines, some stay up all night surfing the internet, some "ice" K powder, and some even take risks!
What Nandao wants to say is that reading, whether it's physical books or online articles, brings happiness without involving huge expenses or potential troubles, not to mention the great benefits of learning new knowledge.
You just need to brew a cup of tea, sit comfortably in front of the computer, spend about 10 minutes reading an update of a book, and then get excited, join a book club group to discuss enthusiastically with others; if not happy, go to the review area and scold the author like a grandson. After doing all this, you've spent about 20 cents, looking at the time, it's still a bit early to sleep... doesn't matter, there are many good books on 17K, let's go read some newly added free books!
Take a look, you spend money to watch for a while, and then don't spend money to watch again. You spend the whole evening happily, joyfully, and safely! After reading books, you can still lie in bed and continue to fantasize about the plot, even thinking deeply about a minor character's name for a long time. Finally, with your dreams, you fall asleep, and then the hardworking authors, like busy bees, start typing away with bloodshot eyes...
Everyone is born and raised by their parents! Why are you so happy, while the author has to be so miserable?
The QQ signature of Xue Cai's "Big Compilation" for a period of time roughly read: "We often see fans, with tears streaming down their faces and excited to the extreme, telling their idols: 'I grew up listening to your songs!' But when have we ever seen a book lover say: 'I grew up reading your books!'"
A very thought-provoking statement!
Nan Dao's book is on the shelves, the first book - started uploading on December 5th, 2011, and by January 29th, 2012, the updated word count exceeded 370,000 words, with clicks nearing 600,000, and has been occupying a spot in the top ten of the new book popularity chart for a long time. Thank you to all the book friends who have supported and encouraged Nan Dao over the past two months!
Nandao loudly calls out to book friends: Subscribe to my book, this is the greatest support and encouragement you can give Nandao. With this powerful backing, in the future you will definitely see more and better new books created by Nandao!
