Fifty linked shell box cannon
The story of "Jiushan Wang" tells the tale of a scholar named Li from Caozhou, Shandong Province. One day, an old man came to rent his family's abandoned garden at a high price. A few days later, the place was transformed with many houses built and people moving in. When Li discovered that they were fox spirits, he plotted to kill them and secretly bought gunpowder and sulfur to burn them all to death. The old fox spirit returned to find his clan annihilated and angrily scolded Li for killing his family without reason or cause. He vowed to take revenge and left. Li was worried that the old fox spirit would retaliate in secret, but a year passed without incident.
In the early years of the Shunzhi era, a fortune teller came to Li's village. He was incredibly accurate in his predictions, and Li sought him out for a reading. The old man told Li that he had an emperor's destiny and advised him to rise up and conquer the world. At first, Li was hesitant, but the old man seemed all-powerful and actually helped him gather a band of mountain bandits into an army. Under the old man's leadership, they defeated government troops multiple times. As a result, Li declared himself the "King of Nine Mountains" and thought that becoming emperor was just a matter of time. He gathered over 10,000 soldiers and his influence grew by the day. When the governor of Shandong learned about the rebellion, he dispatched a large army to quell it. The King of Nine Mountains still hoped for the old man's help, but he had suddenly vanished and couldn't be found anywhere. As the king climbed up a mountain and saw the endless sea of government troops, he lamented, "Only now do I realize that the imperial court is indeed powerful." When his army was defeated and he was captured, his entire clan was exterminated. Only then did he remember that the old man was actually the old fox who had rented his garden all those years ago, come to exact revenge for the extermination of his family.
"This guy is simply an idiot, does he think being an emperor is that easy?"
Yang Shuo Ming burst out laughing after hearing Huang Yunzhi's story.
Huang Yunzhi looked at Yang Shuoming, who was laughing happily, and her eyes flashed with warm and caring light, as if a young mother was looking at her happy child.
"But this 'Nine Mountain King' story is quite enlightening to me, reminding me not to do things that are beyond my abilities." Yang Shuoming smiled enough, looked at Huang Yunzhi, and suddenly straightened his face, saying, "Since you're so familiar with 'Liaozhai's Records of the Strange', from now on, I'll punish you by having you tell me a Liaozhai story every day."
Huang Yunzhi smiled and made a cute ghost face at him, gestured a grasping motion, then fell into his arms.
Yang Shuo Ming held her and fell onto the bed, closing his eyes, quietly savoring this warm and fragrant moment with her soft jade-like body in his arms.
After a while, Yang Shuoming realized he still had a lot of work to do. He opened his eyes, lightly kissed her lips, and reluctantly let go of the embrace.
So-called children's feelings are easy to wear away a hero's ambition. At this moment, Yang Shuoming deeply felt this point.
Huang Yunzhi understood his thoughts and blushed as she straightened up, gently getting out of his arms.
"You should go to the machinery processing plant soon, some equipment just arrived yesterday, and all the technicians are foreigners." Huang Yunzhi brushed her hair with her hand, softly speaking to him while stretching out her hand.
Yang Shuo Ming looked at her movements, smiled happily, grasped her slender fingers, and straightened up.
Sometimes when he was lazy and didn't want to get up from bed, she would pull him up like this.
It just so happens that sometimes she ends up being pulled back into his arms again.
"I'll go right away." Yang Shuo Ming said, getting up straight from the bed. "This time going to Tianyun Mountain can achieve immediate success, in fact, it's still the credit of the howitzer."
On Tianyun Mountain, Tang Jing used the mortar given by Yang Shuo to ambush and defeat Yao Changkui's men who came to steal the mountain, killing them all. Without the mortar, this trip to Tianyun Mountain would not have been so successful.
Yang Shuo Ming said, his eyes inadvertently swept across the room, and when he saw two ship models on a multi-treasured shelf by the wall, his body involuntarily shook violently.
"What's wrong?" Huang Yunzhi sensed Yang Shao Ming's abnormality and asked with concern.
"Where did these two ship models come from?" Yang Shuoming asked, pointing at the two battleship models on the multi-treasured shelf.
"You're talking about them." Huang Yunzhi smiled, got up and brought over a model of a battleship, placing it on the square table in front of Yang Shouming, letting him take a closer look. "This was specially sent to you by two technicians."
Yang Shuo Ming carefully looked at the battleship model in front of him, his eyes wide with wonder, as if he had seen something he had never seen before.
This is a uniquely designed twin-screw triple-funnel battleship, with three triple-mounted main guns, painted in a steel gray color, and its majestic hull shape. What surprised Yang Shuo the most was the arrangement of the warship's artillery.
The three triple turrets of this battleship were arranged in a "one forward two aft" layout!
As a military enthusiast, Yang Shuo Ming has done more research on the light weapons of the army (he can even use simple equipment to manufacture handguns, with quality comparable to military products), and knows relatively little about the weapons of the navy and air force. But based on his existing knowledge of the development history of the navy, he can determine that there is absolutely no battleship in any country in the world designed like this!
As Yang Shuo Ming's mind moved slightly, the "Super Computer Eye" not only gave out the relevant data of this battleship model, but also quickly searched for relevant information. The closest design to this battleship was the French "Normandie"-class battleship. However, unlike the "Normandie"-class battleships, whose main guns were in quadruple turrets (actually "two-by-two" twin turrets, not truly quadruple turrets).
Of course he also knew that the "Normandie" class battleship was ultimately unable to be built.
According to the analysis of "Super Computer Eye", the design of this battleship should be closer to that of a battlecruiser.
"I don't understand these warships, but I think this one looks better." Huang Yunzhi saw Yang Shuoming's unblinking eyes (she didn't know that Yang Shuoming was analyzing the battleship model with his eyes), and couldn't help but laugh a little. She carefully moved another battleship model with black upper and red lower paint to the table, saying to Yang Shuoming.
Yang Shuo Ming's gaze fell on this battleship model, and the relevant data in his eyes also began to emerge continuously.
Compared to the previous battleship model, this one is more traditional and conservative in design, but has a stronger flavor of battleships, looks more beautiful and symmetrical, overall design close to Germany's "Bismarck" class battleships during World War II, not as unconventional as the previous one.
According to the comprehensive analysis of "Super Computer Eye", overall, the designs of these two battleships are excellent. If they can become a reality, they will undoubtedly add a new brilliant page to the world's naval history.
"Where are these two people now?" Yang Shuo Ming slowly stood up and asked.
"They've all been here with us, one of them because he couldn't afford the medical expenses for his illness and signed a contract to work in the factory, bringing his family along. The other one stayed voluntarily." Huang Yunzhi replied, "They've been waiting for you for several days, but didn't see you return. Originally they were going to leave, but after seeing the recoilless gun at Xu's place, they didn't want to leave anymore. Wu Tou'er knew about it and talked to them, then arranged for them to work in the mechanical processing factory."
"These are two rare talents, we must keep them." Yang Shuo Ming said seriously, "I'll go see them in a while."
Huang Yunzhi nodded and looked at the two battleship models on the table, a hint of confusion flashing in her eyes, as if she didn't understand why he said that.
At this time, she certainly could not have thought that the great maritime dream of several generations of Chinese sages and heroes was no longer far away from now on!
And for Japan, which is across the sea from China, a continuous nightmare also begins today!
June 30, 1914, Nanchang, Jiangxi Provincial Civil Affairs Bureau.
Li Chunjing, dressed in military uniform with a sash draped over his shoulder and medals pinned to his chest, sat down in the chair. Nearby, the old butler and several servants were flipping through the gift list, announcing the names of the gifts and their donors.
Today, the Beijing side granted him the title of "Changwu General" and supervised the military affairs in Jiangxi.
Although Beijing has not officially appointed him as the governor of Jiangxi, his current powers are almost indistinguishable from those of a governor.
Anyway, promotion is always a good thing, and the gifts piled up in front of me are proof.
Li Chun's gaze swept over all sorts of gifts, and suddenly, something mixed in with the many presents caught his attention.
That was a large "box cannon" pistol placed on an exquisite wooden rack.
Li Chun got up and walked over to the table, picking up the pistol with some surprise.
The external appearance of this pistol is almost identical to that of the German Mauser "Broomhandle" pistol, but it is much larger in size, with a longer barrel and a larger frame, indicating a greater magazine capacity. Although the gun looks very large, its weight is not much heavier than a standard Mauser "Broomhandle".
"Who sent this gun?" Li Chun turned around and asked the white-haired old butler.
The old steward turned around, adjusted his glasses and looked at the gun, saying: "It seems to be a gift from Mr. Yang of 'Renhe Company'. Let me see," The old steward lowered his head and flipped through the gift list, "Yes, it's indeed a gift from Mr. Yang Shouming of 'Renhe Company', one 'Fifty-Shot Revolver' with five hundred bullets, one gun stock, one folding buttstock, and one bayonet."
"What? Fifty rounds? Linked box magazine?" Li Chun was shocked by what the old steward said.
"That's right, sir." The old steward walked to Li Chun's side, flipped out the gift list and said with a smile, "It is written like this on it."
Li Chun took over the gift and glanced at it, nodded, then picked up this large-caliber box gun again, carefully examining it.
Today's second update is here!
