The 21st Knight: The Two Knights

The Twenty-First Knight of Twin Riders

Baron Difoni was now accompanied by only two knights, who were pulling his warhorse to run out of the battlefield. Baron Difoni rode alone on horseback, lost and disheartened, with the image of the two knights riding together on one horse still echoing in his mind. He shouldn't have been so humiliated, it was all because of that guy, that despicable guy.

When Baron Deifon was about to retreat under the persuasion of the Saxon knights, he had just moved from his position. On horseback, Arwade behind him stabbed a soldier with his sword. When Arwade raised his head, he inadvertently saw the square flag representing the baron swaying to the side and rear. He suddenly remembered that in a certain island country game, there was a clan called True Field that excelled at rumor tactics on the battlefield, so he shouted loudly.

"The Saxon general fled, the Saxon general fled." Arjuna didn't know what noble that flag represented, so he just shouted out "The Saxon general has fled", fortunately everyone was a Germanic person and there were no language problems.

"Baron Difroni has fled, Baron Difroni has fled! Charge, catch him!" Fortunately, there were clever guys among the Mason Knights who immediately reacted to Arrod's words and loudly shouted, accurately calling out the identity of the leader. This made the soldiers turn their heads and see that the baron's flag was retreating, thinking that the baron was abandoning them, so they lost all will to fight, many ran away from the battlefield, and a small number of people threw down their weapons in disappointment.

"After him!" Aruth shouted, standing upright on the horse's back, one hand grasping Ivo's shoulder and the other waving his sword, as he yelled in the direction the baron had fled.

"Damn you, pigs! I won't forgive you." The retreat of Baron Difroni turned into a rout, and the Mason Knights, with even higher morale, pursued them relentlessly. But the one who was most energetic and closest in pursuit was Arwade, while the baron cursed and panted as he fled for his life.

"Gray law~~~~." The road to escape is always busy and wrong, the unfamiliar terrain of the Saxon knights led Baron Difoni to a creek, they wanted to cross the creek but didn't know why the water was rushing, the heavily armored knights were almost drowned by this small creek that reached their knees, so they had to hold each other back to the shore, just then the sound of horseshoes came from behind them.

"Look at these fools, they've actually run themselves into a dead end." Arvid and Yves gazed at the Saxons, their armor drenched, their spirits sagging as they struggled to draw their swords, shielding Baron Diphon behind them.

"What do you want?" Baron Difroni thought this was the worst moment of his life. If he had known that war would be so boring, he would rather have stayed in his own manor, drinking and flirting with the maids, living a leisurely life. Why waste money to come and suffer like this? But for now, thinking of his own life, he decided to make a deal with these two knights, just to see if they would take the bait.

"Of course, I've got you now, Baron." Arwade jumped off his horse, holding his sword at the two drenched knights, who were exhausted from their continuous escape and had greatly reduced combat effectiveness.

"I understand, but you're holding me for ransom, aren't you? If you release me, I can send someone to bring you a sufficient ransom. I swear on my title before God." Lord Difourni raised his hand in an oath-taking gesture and said solemnly.

"Well, that does save a lot of trouble." Arwade pretended to be interested, but when he turned his back on the Saxon, he winked at Eve, who smiled knowingly. He knew Arwade must have some trick up his sleeve.

"Ah ha, it seems we've reached an agreement, excellent! Do you have paper and pen? Or I can give you my ring as a token instead." Baron Difoni let out a sigh of relief, he pulled off his gauntlet and prepared to take off his own ring.

"Ah, all right." Arvad stepped forward to take the ring, the two Saxon knights tensed up in vigilance. Arvad glanced at Baron Difonis, who immediately waved his hand to his subordinates.

"Here, take it, this is the real ruby." Baron Difroni handed over his ring to Arwod, thinking in his heart that he would go back and tell his cousin, Duke of Saxony, to kill these lowly Mason Knights clean.

"Ah, the Ruby, I've never seen it before." Arwade pretended to look at it and suddenly grabbed Baron Difoni's hand, pulling him down from his horse with a jerk. The Baron fell heavily to the ground with a cry of pain, and two Saxon knights roared in anger, raising their swords and charging forward.

"Ride!" With a single kick to the horse's belly, he charged forward and intercepted the Saxon knights. His own massive physique combined with the height of the horse intimidated the two Saxon knights into stunned silence.

"This is you killing our villagers, this is you burning down our village, and this is you injuring our people, and this is you not following the law, not harmonizing with society." Aruo De took a step forward, straddling Difoni's body, and punched him in the face, aiming at his eyes, nose, and mouth, while saying.

"Wow, wow~~~." Baron Difoni had never encountered such a situation in his life. Even on the battlefield, nobles who were captured would be treated with courtesy, but this unorthodox knight actually punched him in the face. The pain was more unbearable than death itself. He sobbed with red and swollen eyes, mouth and nose bleeding, looking pitifully at Arwade.

"My brother, beat them enough and then take them to General Rael'gor. I don't care about Arwod beating the baron, it's what happens on the battlefield anyway, and a live baron can fetch a better price."

"That's enough, if he doesn't behave himself I don't mind giving him another beating." Aruo De swung his fist again, having just accidentally hit the baron's helmet, what a hard thing it was. As he stood up, he retaliated by kicking the baron in the head with one foot, really a bad habit from school days, if only there were bricks around he thought to himself.

Arvid brought together Baron Difroni, whose eyes were blackened like a panda's, and General Ralph when the sun was about to set. The Mason Knights cleaned up the battlefield, singing triumphant songs as they took their captives towards Duke Mason's castle. This time, the losses were less than half of the troops, with the wounded supporting each other and the dead buried on the spot.

"Hail the twin riders!" As Arin and Eir passed through the throngs of Misen knights, people cheered them on, seemingly enamored with their valiant appearance riding into battle together on one horse. Eir's chest puffed out in excitement as she laughed, and Arin was infected by her joy, smiling as they approached the castle where their father, Sir Wendel, waited.

  "Father."

  "Father."

"Congratulations to you." Sir Wendel smiled and hugged his sons one by one. The Mason Knights generously spread the word about Arrod and Eve's bravery, making their names start to spread throughout the territory. It was also said that some ministers in the Duke of Mason's court had asked General Ralf about the Double Riders, which made Sir Wendel feel relieved, as if the family's revival was just around the corner.

"Father, this is Baron Difourni, whom we have captured. He was the commander of the invading troops." Arrod walked into the group of captives and pulled out Baron Difourni by a rope, who now only wore a linen shirt and long pants, shivering in the cold night wind.

"How dare you treat a baron in such a manner, it's utterly dishonorable!" Sir Wendel exclaimed, looking at the poor baron with surprise and scolding Arwode.

"Hmm, hmm, hmm." The battered and bruised Baron Difooni heard the words of the gentleman and hastily spoke with a muffled voice, his face showing an extremely wronged expression, but the purple and blue bruises from Arwade's beating made it impossible to discern any emotion.

"What is your will, which we shall certainly fulfill? My young son has not yet been knighted and therefore has not received regular knight training. It was my fault that you were treated unfairly." Sir Wendel bowed his head and pressed his chest to apologize to Baron Difoni.

"Ah, ah." Baron Difooni nodded repeatedly, but upon seeing Arwode's gaze, he hastily shook his head, which left Sir Wendel somewhat perplexed.

"Alright father, let's have Baron Difohni write to his family and after they pay a reasonable ransom he can go home." Yifu interjected at this time.

"That's right, Baron. How much ransom do you think is fitting for your status? We can quickly write a letter to inform your family." Lord Wendel nodded in agreement, thinking that what Ivan said was reasonable, and demanding ransom was a matter of knightly honor that couldn't be taken lightly.

Just then, as Sir Wendell was questioning Baron Difroni, several soldiers wearing the uniform of Count Lauzitz approached, pushing others aside to come straight for Sir Wendell. One of them, an older man, strode forward after a moment's scrutiny, his torch held high.

"Are you Sir Wendel?" asked the older Count Lausitz's soldier.

"Yes." Sir Wendel had no idea what business Count Lauterbach's man had with him and nodded in response.

"Count Lauterbach, let us give you this while taking Baron Diffring away." The soldier carelessly handed a small pouch to the noble and then reached out to grab Baron Diffring, pulling him in his own direction.

"Release your hands, or I will cut him off." Just then, a sword was placed on the soldier's arm, and Aruo De quietly drew his sword and said.

"Halt, Corporal! What's all this, then?" Sir Wendel's brow furrowed in a scowl as he asked the soldier.
